Shooting At The 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's Double Trap
The men's double trap event at the 2012 Olympic Games took place on 2 August 2012 at the Royal Artillery Barracks. The event consisted of two rounds: a qualifier and a final. In the qualifier, each shooter fired 3 sets of 50 shots in trap shooting Trap shooting, or trapshooting in North America, is one of the three major disciplines of competitive clay pigeon shooting, which is shooting shotguns at clay targets. The other disciplines are skeet shooting and sporting clays. They are disting .... Shots were paired, with two targets being launched at a time. The top 6 shooters in the qualifying round moved on to the final round. There, they fired one additional round of 50. The total score from all 200 shots was used to determine final ranking. Ties are broken using a shoot-off; additional shots are fired one pair at a time until there is no longer a tie. Fahad Al-Deehani ( ar, فهيد الديحاني, born October 11, 1966) is a Kuwaiti professional target shooter and officer in the Kuwaiti military. He was born in Kuwait City. Olympic career Al-Deehani won a bronze medal for the men's double trap shooting event at the 2000 Summer Olympics, and won another bronze for the men's Olympic trap shooting event at the 2012 Summer Olympics. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, Al-Deehani competed as an " independent Olympic athlete" because Kuwait was banned from the Olympics by the IOC. Al-Deehani called for the resignation of Kuwaiti officials responsible for the IOC ban, but refused to carry the Olympic flag in the 2016 Olympic opening ceremonies. Joshua Richmond
Joshua Richmond (born December 19, 1985) is an American male sport shooter who was, at one time, the world's top ranked double trap shooter. He won the ISSF World Shooting Championships in 2010 and 2014, and also has 12 ISSF World Cup medals in the sport. He was favored to win the men's double trap shooting event at the 2012 Summer Olympics, but placed 16th. Richmond was born in Sayre, Pennsylvania to Michael and Sandra Richmond. Richard Faulds
Richard Bruce Faulds MBE (born 16 March 1977 in Guildford, Surrey), is a retired English sport shooter, who competed for Great Britain in the 2000 Summer Olympics and won the men's double trap. He also competed at the 1996, 2004, 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. Born into a family who then ran a stud farm in Sussex, Faulds was then raised on the family-owned Owl's Lodge Farm in the Hampshire village of Longparish. On his tenth birthday, Faulds's father Bruce bought him some shooting lessons, with Richard hitting 17 out of 25 clays in his first attempt. His father built him a range on the family farm, but just before finishing third in his first world junior championship, his PE teacher said that his hand–eye co-ordination was very poor. William Chetcuti
William Chetcuti (born 7 January 1985) is a Maltese sport shooter who specializes in the double trap. He won the 2011 World Cup event in Beijing and the 2004 European Junior Championship where he set what is still a world record. He was the first Maltese shooter to win a World Cup medal.
