Shock (2004 Film)
''Shock'' is a 2004 Indian Tamil-language supernatural horror film directed and produced by Thiagarajan. The film stars his son Prashanth and Meena, while Abbas, Thiagarajan, Suhasini, Kalairani, and Sarath Babu, amongst others played the supporting roles. The music is composed by Salim–Sulaiman. The film was a remake of Ram Gopal Varma's Hindi film, '' Bhoot'' (2003), and was released on 23 July 2004. The film received a positive response from critics and was a box office success. Plot The film revolves around Vasanth, a stock analyst, and his wife Malini. The two are in search of a flat in Chennai. Vasanth finds the perfect place on the 12th floor of a high-rise apartment building. However, the apartment has a horrifying past. The previous occupant of the flat, Manju, killed her child, and then jumped from the balcony and died. Malini learns about this incident and becomes oddly fixated with the story. Thiagarajan
Thiagarajan Sivanandam (born 21 June 1946) is an Indian actor, director and producer in Tamil cinema. Beside Tamil, he has also acted in several Malayalam and Kannada films and a few Telugu films. He is the father of Tamil actor Prashanth and the maternal uncle of Tamil actor Vikram. Career Basically a businessman, Thiagarajan made his acting debut with ''Alaigal Oivathillai'', appearing as the elder brother of the film's lead actress Radha. The film became successful and offers poured in for him. His portrayal of a jungle bandit in ''Malaiyoor Mambattiyan'' provided him a major breakthrough in his career. Sujatha (10 December 1952 – 6 April 2011) was an Indian actress who performed and staggered in a number of unique and variety of characters in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films- in addition to few in Kannada and Hindi languages as well. The actress was best known for restraint and subtlety in portrayal of varied emotions. After starring in numerous Malayalam films in her mother-tongue, Sujatha later got introduced to the Tamil film industry by veteran director K. Balachander and producer P.R. Govindarajan as a protagonist in her first Tamil film, ''Aval Oru Thodar Kathai'' (1974). It was a critically acclaimed film and launched the actress's first commecrical breakthrough in her acting career.
