Shehzad Azam (1 November 1985 – 30 September 2022) was a Pakistani cricketer who played for Islamabad. He was the leading wicket-taker for Islamabad in the 2017–18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, with 26 dismissals in seven matches. Islamabad Cricket Team
The Islamabad cricket team was a first-class cricket team based in Islamabad, Pakistan. Its home ground was the Diamond Club Ground. It participates in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy. For Twenty20 and List A cricket the team is known as the Islamabad Leopards and participates in the National T20 Cup and National One-day Championship. Islamabad was scheduled to play its first two first-class matches in the 1986-87 season in the BCCP President's Cup, but it conceded them without playing. It eventually made its first-class debut in 1992-93 in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy, in which it has competed ever since, except for the 2002-03, 2003–04 and 2004–05 seasons. 2017–18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
The 2017–18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was the 60th edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Pakistan's domestic first-class cricket competition. It was contested by 16 teams representing eight regional associations and eight departments, and took place from 26 September to 25 December 2017, spanning almost two weeks less than originally planned. Pakistan's former Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq was critical of the compressed schedule and the quality of the pitches saying "it takes time to prepare a good pitch for a game and nobody can make it in two days". The format of the competition remained the same as the previous season, with two round-robin group stages and a final. The 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam One Day Cup was the first edition of the Quaid-e-Azam One Day Cup, a List A cricket tournament that took place in Pakistan from 6 September to 4 November 2018. Each match was played after the conclusion of the corresponding first-class fixture in the 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. Following the conclusion of the group stage, National Bank of Pakistan, Khan Research Laboratories, Habib Bank Limited and Islamabad from Pool A along with Sui Southern Gas Corporation, Pakistan Television, Water and Power Development Authority and Multan from Pool B had all qualified for the quarter-finals.
