''She Knows Y'Know'' is a 1962 black and white British comedy film directed by Montgomery Tully and starring comedienne Hylda Baker. The film takes its title from Hylda Baker's best known catch-phrase. The British Film Institute, BFI describes the film, which was made on a low-budget, as a "low life comedy, unfolded against an industrial town backdrop". Plot In the Northern England, North of England in the 1950s, the lives of two very different families become entwined. Montgomery Tully
Montgomery Tully (6 May 190410 October 1988) was an Irish film director and writer. Film career Born in Dublin, Tully studied at the University of London, and originally entered the film industry as a director of documentaries. Later, Tully worked on low-budget British films, and is mostly known for his crime dramas. One of his films, ''No Road Back'' (1957), featured Sean Connery in a very early role. His last film, ''The Terrornauts'', was made in 1967. He also worked in television, directing episodes of shows such as ''Edgar Wallace Mysteries'', ''Kraft Mystery Theatre'', ''Man from Interpol'' and ''Fabian of the Yard''. Patricia Shakesby (born 6 November 1942) is an English actress and playwright, best known for her role as Polly Urquhart in ''Howards' Way''. She is also notable for being an original cast member of ''Coronation Street'', in which she played Susan Cunningham, the first on-screen love interest of Ken Barlow. Early life and roles Shakesby was born in Cottingham, East Riding of Yorkshire. She made her television debut aged 18, on 9 December 1960 in ''Coronation Street''. Shakesby played Ken Barlow's (William Roache) middle class girlfriend, Susan Cunningham, for 12 episodes. ''Up the Junction'' is a 1968 British "kitchen sink" drama film, directed by Peter Collinson and starring Dennis Waterman, Suzy Kendall, Adrienne Posta, Maureen Lipman and Liz Fraser. Jean Fergusson (30 December 1944 – 14 November 2019) was a British television and theatre actress, who was best known for playing the part of Marina on the British situation comedy ''Last of the Summer Wine'' from 1985 until it was cancelled in 2010, and her several guest roles in the soap '' Coronation Street''.
