The Flys (American Band)
The Flys were an American rock band, formed in Hollywood in 1994 by Adam Paskowitz and Josh Paskowitz. They are the sons of Doc Paskowitz, described by the New York Times as the "First Family of Surfing." The band has shared the stage and toured with many other well known acts and rock bands, but have been on indefinite hiatus since 2012. Their 1998 alternative top five hit " Got You (Where I Want You)", was produced by Chris Goss, and the video featured actors Katie Holmes and James Marsden. "Got You (Where I Want You)" was on their second album '' Holiday Man'' in 1998 and appeared on the soundtrack for the 1998 MGM film ''Disturbing Behavior'', starring Holmes and Marsden. The Romantics
The Romantics are an American rock band formed in 1977 in Detroit. The band is often put under the banner of new wave and power pop. They were influenced by 1950s American rock and roll, Detroit's MC5, the Stooges, early Bob Seger, Motown R&B, 1960s North American garage rock as well as the British Invasion rockers. It started as an independent trade from 1973 to 2006 until VNU Media took over in 2006 and became a relaunched sister trade to '' Billboard'', until its final issue in 2009. The Smithereens
The Smithereens are an American rock band from Carteret, New Jersey, United States. The group formed in 1980 with members Pat DiNizio (vocals & guitar), Jim Babjak (guitar & vocals), Mike Mesaros (bass guitar & vocals), and Dennis Diken (drums & percussion). This original lineup continued until 2006, when Mesaros left the band and Severo Jornacion took over on bass guitar until Mesaros' return in 2016. After DiNizio died in 2017, the band continued performing live shows as a trio (Babjak, Mesaros and Diken) with various guest vocalists. The band are perhaps best known for a string of hits in the late 1980s through the mid-1990s, including "Only a Memory", " A Girl Like You" and " Too Much Passion".
