Shari Ahmad
Shari bin Ahmad is a Bruneian nobleman and soldier whom became the fifth Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) from 1999 until 2001, and the second Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) from 1994 until 1999. Military career Among the 72 cadet officers who graduated from Officer Cadet School, Portsea on 9 December 1966, Major general Walter S. McKinnon presented awards to two Bruneian cadets, namely Shari Ahmad and B.M. Ali. In 1969, Lieutenant Colonel H.F. Burrows presented individual awards to the members of the Platoon No.5 of 'B' Company for winning the Seri Begawan Shield's shooting competition, held at Berakas Camp. As the winning team's captain, he received the shield for his achievement. Excellency
Excellency is an honorific style given to certain high-level officers of a sovereign state, officials of an international organization, or members of an aristocracy. Belait District
Belait District (; Jawi: دأيره بلأيت), or simply Belait (), is the largest as well as the westernmost district in Brunei. It has an area of and the population of 69,062 as of 2016. Mukim Labi is a mukim in the interior of Belait District, Brunei. It has an area of ; the population was 1,216 in 2016. Geography The mukim is located in the central and south-western part of the district, bordering Mukim Liang to the north, Mukim Bukit Sawat to the north-east, Mukim Sukang to the east, the Malaysian state of Sarawak to the south and west and Mukim Kuala Balai and Mukim Seria to the north-west. Hassanal Bolkiah ibni Omar Ali Saifuddien III ( Jawi: ; born 15 July 1946) is the 29th and current Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei since 1967 and the Prime Minister of Brunei since independence from the United Kingdom in 1984. He is one of the last absolute monarchs in the world. Bolkiah Garrison
Bolkiah Garrison () also sometimes referred to as Bolkiah Camp, is one of the military bases in Mukim Berakas 'A', Bandar Seri Begawan, and serves as the headquarters of the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF). International defence collaborations, meetings and bilateral exercises are planned and considered within this military base. History The Training Institute of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (TI RBAF) was established on 7 April 1969, but it would later be relocated to Penanjong Garrison in 1991. Walter McKinnon
Major General Walter Sneddon McKinnon, (8 July 1910 – 20 May 1998) was an officer in the New Zealand Army. He joined the military in 1935 and served in the Second World War with various artillery units of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force. After the war he held a series of senior positions in the army, culminating with a term as Chief of the General Staff from 1965 to 1967. In his retirement, he was Chairman of the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation. Early life McKinnon was born in Invercargill.
