Seánie O'Farrell
Seánie O'Farrell (born 1977) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a right corner-forward for the Cork senior team. Born in Carrigtwohill, County Cork, O'Farrell first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team, before later joining the under-21 side. He joined the senior panel during the 1998 National Hurling League. O'Farrell won one National Hurling League medal. At club level O'Farrell is a three-time championship medallist with Imokilly GAA in 1997 and 1998 and in 2011 with Carrigtwohill GAA. Carrigtwohill GAA is a Gaelic Football and hurling club based in the parish of Carrigtwohill in County Cork, Cork, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The club participates in Cork GAA competitions and in Imokilly GAA, Imokilly board competitions. In 2011 the Senior hurling team won a first county title in 93 years . All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship
The GAA Hurling Intermediate All-Ireland Championship, known simply as the All-Ireland Intermediate Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Effectively contested by the second string teams of the top inter-county hurling sides in Ireland, the tournament has taken place every year since 1997—having originally been run between 1961 and 1973. The 1995 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship was the 65th staging of the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. The championship began on 29 April 1995 and ended on 3 September 1995. Galway entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Cork in the All-Ireland semi-final. On 3 September 1995, Cork won the title after defeating Kilkenny by 2–10 to 1–2 in the All-Ireland final. This was their 16th championship title overall and their first title since 1985. The 1998 National Hurling League (known as the Church & General National Hurling League) was the 66th season of the National Hurling League. Division 1 The league saw a major restructuring of the usual four divisions of eight teams. Division 1 was split into Group 1A and Group 1B with each group consisting of six teams. The top two teams in each group qualified for the knock-out stage. Limerick came into the season as defending champions of the 1997 season.
