Seán O'Connor (businessman)
Seán O'Connor (born 29 April 1960) is an Irish motorsport promoter and academic who previously served as a member of Seanad Éireann. Early life and family O'Connor was educated at Terenure College, Dublin, where he was a member of the Leinster Schools Rugby Senior Cup, Senior Cup rugby team. He has a degree in marketing from Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), an MA in political communications from Dublin City University, and a doctorate from the Ulster University. A grandson of Taoiseach Seán Lemass, he lives in County Wicklow. His son, Rory O'Connor, was a member of Wicklow County Council until 2024. Sean O'Connor (born 7 July 1981) is an English former professional footballer, who played for Queen of the South, Hednesford Town, and Dundee United. After starting his career with local side Hednesford Town, O'Connor moved into the Scottish game with Scottish Premier League side Dundee United. From there he had a couple of loan spells, one with Greenock Morton and the other with Northern Irish side Portadown. Upon leaving the Arabs he had a spell with Queen of the South before heading back to England with Morecambe. Since leaving Morecambe in 2006, O'Connor has spent his time in the Scottish Football League, with Queen of the South again as well as their near neighbours Annan Athletic. Seán 'Socky' O'Connor (born 21 October 1983) is an Irish former professional footballer who played for St. Patrick's Athletic over two spells, Limerick & Shamrock Rovers over two spells. He is currently coach of League of Ireland Premier Division club St Patrick's Athletic and manager of St Patrick's Athletic U19. Sean O'Connor (born 11 February 1968 in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England) is a British producer, writer and director working in theatre, film, television and radio. He was the editor of the long-running BBC radio drama, ''The Archers'' from 2013 to 2016. He replaced Dominic Treadwell-Collins as the executive producer of ''EastEnders'' in June 2016. Seán O'Connor (1935 – 5 February 2018) was an Irish hurler, selector, referee and Gaelic games administrator. His league and championship career at senior level with the Limerick county team lasted two seasons from 1957 until 1959. Born in Limerick, O'Connor first played competitive hurling and Gaelic football at juvenile and underage levels with the Claughaun club. He eventually became a dual player with the club's senior teams, winning four county hurling championship medals and three county football championship medals. O'Connor made his inter-county debut as a dual player with the Limerick minor teams. He joined the senior hurling team in 1957 and had two seasons as a member of the team. Seán O'Connor (born 22 August 1996) is an Irish rugby union player. He can play as either a lock or a flanker and represents Jersey Reds in the RFU Championship. Early life O'Connor was born in Clonmel, County Tipperary and first played rugby aged 6 with Cashel RFC.
