Setola Di Maiale
Setola di Maiale is an Italian record label founded by Stefano Giust and Paolo De Piaggi in 1993. The label was created to catalogue and release music in the fields of experimental music and avant-garde, including free improvisation, free jazz, electroacoustic music, and electronic music. Since its founding, Setola di Maiale has released over 400 recordings from musicians and ensembles from all over the world. Xabier Iriondo
Xabier Iriondo (Milan, 9 February 1971) is an Italian guitarist. He was born in Isola neighborhood in Milan in 1971, Basque father and Italian mother. At the age of 17 he started to play the guitar. This passion for the strings still accompanies him. Between 1992 and 2001 he collaborated on five albums and hundreds of concerts with the alternative rock band Afterhours (band), Afterhours, 3 albums with the indie rock band Six Minute War Madness and 3 albums + 2 miniCD with the project A Short Apnea. Gabriel Vicéns
Gabriel Vicéns (born March 16, 1988) is a Puerto Rican guitarist, composer, bandleader, and visual artist currently based in New York City. Early life and education Born and raised in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, Vicéns began his musical training at the age of 14, and shortly after, he began playing jazz in local clubs. He attended the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico, where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz and Caribbean Music studies, graduating summa cum laude as the first guitarist in the program in 2010. Later on, in 2016, he moved to New York City and attended Queens College, receiving a Master of Music in 2017. Benedict Taylor is a British avant-garde violist, violinist and composer. Career Taylor works in contemporary composition, modern string performance and improvised music in the British and European new music world. The central focus of his work is in new composition for live performance, film, theatre, contemporary dance, art installation, and electroacoustic composition. Bruno Romani
Bruno Romani (Udine, 9 January 1960) is an Italian saxophonist, flutist and composer. He was the founder of ''Detonazione'' (one of the most influential Italian post-punk bands of the 80s), author of contemporary jazz albums and collaborator as a sideman for important artists. Ivo Perelman (born January 12, 1961) is a Brazilian free jazz saxophonist born in São Paulo. Career In his youth, Perelman learned to play guitar, cello, clarinet, trombone, and piano, concentrating on tenor sax since age 19. He attended the Berklee College of Music for one semester and then dropped out, moving to Los Angeles in 1986. Evan Shaw Parker (born 5 April 1944) is a British tenor and soprano saxophone player who plays free improvisation. Recording and performing prolifically with many collaborators, Parker was a pivotal figure in the development of European free jazz and free improvisation. He has pioneered or substantially expanded an array of extended techniques. Critic Ron Wynn describes Parker as "among Europe's most innovative and intriguing saxophonists...his solo sax work isn't for the squeamish." Ela Orleans (born 1971 in Oświęcim, commonly known by its German name of Auschwitz) is a Polish composer, multi-instrumentalist and singer. Orleans uses electronic and acoustic instruments (including synthesisers, guitar, violin, piano) to create a diverse and layered music.
