Servis Industries Cricket Team
Service Industries (known until 1999 as Servis Industries) were a first-class cricket team in Pakistan sponsored by Service Industries Limited (SIL). They played 19 matches between 1975 and 2005, winning five matches, losing seven and drawing seven. As Servis Industries Between 1975 and 1987 Servis Industries won five matches, lost two and drew three. In 1976-77, needing 398 to beat Lahore A in the Patron's Trophy, they scored the runs with one wicket to spare after being 258 for 8. Their highest score was 120 by Imran Bucha on his first-class debut against Lahore B. He also took 1 for 19 and 5 for 40 in an innings victory. The best bowling figures were 6 for 55 by Naeem Taj against Hyderabad in 1986-87. As Service Industries Between 2002 and 2005 Service Industries lost five matches and drew four. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. At a meeting of the Imperial Cricket Conference (ICC) in 1947, it was formally defined on a global basis. A significant omission of the ICC ruling was any attempt to define first-class cricket retrospectively. Aftab Gul
Aftab Gul Khan (Urdu: آفتاب گل خان) (born 31 March 1946) is a former Pakistani cricketer who played in six Test matches from 1969 to 1971. Gul was an opening batsman who represented a number of first-class sides in Pakistan from 1964–65 to 1977–78. His initial selection in the Test side, when England toured Pakistan during 1968-69 amid political turmoil, had less to do with his cricketing abilities than with his position as a student leader, in an attempt to placate the rioters. Gul scored more than 1000 runs in the tour of England in 1971. In the first over of the First Test at Birmingham in that series, he was struck on the head by a ball from Alan Ward and was forced to retire. Ramiz Hasan Raja ( ur, ; born 14 August 1962) is a Pakistani cricket administrator, commentator, YouTuber, and former cricketer who served as the 35th Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board between September 2021 and December 2022. Nasir Javed (born 21 June 1966) is a Pakistani born American cricketer. Javed was a right-handed batsman who bowled leg break googly. He was born in Lahore, Punjab. Javed started his cricket career in his native Pakistan, playing first-class cricket for Lahore City in 1984–85, Lahore City Whites in 1984–85 and Servis Industries in 1986–87 as a bowler. Aamer Hameed (born 18 October 1954, in Lahore, Punjab) is a former Pakistani cricketer, known as The Lahori Lion who played two ODIs between 1977 and 1978. His primary skill was a fast-medium pace bowler. Both his international matches came against England during the 1977/78 home series. He only picked up one wicket in his two games dismissing Mike Brearley at the Zafar Ali Stadium. He was picked for the summer tour of England in 1978 although he didn't receive a call-up during the series and eventually was never considered for international selection for the remainder of his career. Mohammad Nadeem Ghauri (, born 12 October 1962) is a former Pakistani cricketer who played in one Test matches and six One Day Internationals (ODI) in 1990. Playing career Ghauri was born in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Ghouri's only Test match appearance came against Australia in 1990.
