SERN
In rocketry, a SERN, which stands for single expansion ramp nozzle, is a type of physical linear expansion nozzle where the gas pressure transfers work only on one side. Traditional nozzles are axially symmetric, and therefore surround the expanding gas. Linear nozzles are not axially symmetric, but consist of a 2D configuration of two expansion ramps. A SERN could also be seen as a single sided aerospike engine. Many designs for space planes with scramjet engines make use of SERNs because of the weight reduction at large expansion ratios, or the additional lift at under-expansion. The X-43, a test vehicle in NASA's Hyper-X programme, is a flying example. Lou Sern
"Swiss Boy" is a single by Italo disco singer Tom Hooker, released in 1986 under the pseudonym Lou Sern (a pun on the Swiss city of Lucerne). At the beginning and towards the end of the song, a recreation of the Westminster Quarters clock chime can be heard. The single was backed with the track "Cuckoo Clock (Instrumental)". Although the song was popular in Italy and in Europe, it was a much bigger hit in the Philippines, where it still remains popular to this day. Johan ''Rutger'' Sernander (2November 186627October 1944) was a Swedish botanist, geologist and archaeologist. Iu Mien Language
The Iu Mien language ( ium, Iu Mienh, ; zh, 勉語 or ; th, ภาษาอิวเมี่ยน) is the language spoken by the Iu Mien people in China (where they are considered a constituent group of the Yao peoples), Laos, Vietnam, Thailand and, more recently, the United States in diaspora. Like other Mien languages, it is tonal and monosyllabic. Linguists in China consider the dialect spoken in Changdong, Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County, Guangxi to be the standard. This standard is also spoken by Iu Mien in the West, however, because most are refugees from Laos, their dialect incorporates influences from the Lao and Thai languages. Iu Mien has 78% lexical similarity with Kim Mun (Lanten), 70% with Biao-Jiao Mien, and 61% with Dzao Min.
