Let's Dance (David Bowie Song)
"Let's Dance" is a song by English singer-songwriter David Bowie, originally included as the title track of his 1983 album of the same name. Co-produced by Nile Rodgers of Chic, it was recorded in late 1982 at the Power Station in New York City. With the assistance of engineer Bob Clearmountain, Rodgers transformed the song from its folk origins to a dance number through studio effects and new musicians Bowie had yet to work with. Bowie hired then-unknown Texas guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan, who added a blues-edge. Embracing rock, funk, dance, new wave and post-disco, the full-length seven-minute track features numerous solos, including trumpet, saxophone, guitar and percussion. Several music elements, from the bassline and the breakdown, were based on Rodgers' work with Chic, while the rising vocal intros were taken from the Beatles' version of "Twist and Shout". Serious Moonlight (1983 Film)
''Serious Moonlight'' is a David Bowie concert video. Filmed in Vancouver on 12 September 1983, on the singer's "Serious Moonlight Tour", the video was released on VHS and laserdisc in 1984 and on DVD in 2006. The concert includes most of the songs from the concert although "Star", "Stay", "The Jean Genie", "Red Sails" and " Modern Love" were left off the 1984 release due to time constraints; the songs were not reinstated for the 2006 DVD release. A live version (audio only) of "Modern Love", recorded on 13 July 1983 at a show in Montreal and originally released as the B-side to the studio version of the same song, can be found elsewhere on the 2006 DVD release as background music for the photo gallery. The audio and exact setlist from the concert film was reused for the ''Serious Moonlight (Live '83)'' live album, included with the ''Loving the Alien (1983–1988)'' box set in 2018 and released separately the following year; the live album additionally includes the aforement ... ''Serious Moonlight'' is a 2009 American black comedy film directed by Cheryl Hines and starring Meg Ryan, Timothy Hutton, Kristen Bell, and Justin Long. It was released by Magnolia Pictures on 4 December 2009. Plot When Louise, a high-powered Chicago attorney (Meg Ryan), discovers that her husband Ian (Timothy Hutton) is about to leave her for another woman named Sara (Kristen Bell), she prevents him from doing so by binding him to a chair with duct tape. She tries to persuade and convince him that he still loves her, but everything she says fails to change his mind. He lies and promises that he still loves her and won't run away when she frees him. When he tries to escape, she knocks him out with a flower pot and tapes him to a toilet. She then leaves the house to purchase groceries to make a "romantic meal."
