Sergei Ivanov (Estonian Politician)
Sergei Ivanov (born 5 January 1958, in Haapsalu) is an Estonian politician. He graduated in 1982 from Tallinn University of Technology with a degree in Automation and Management Systems and in 1992 from the St. Petersburg State Institute of Political Science and Management. He was a member of the Riigikogu from 1995 to 2007, representing a number of parties, including the pro-Russian coalition Our Home is Estonia, the Estonian United People's Party, and the Estonian Reform Party. From 18 June 2000 to June 2002, he was the chairman of the Russian-Baltic Party. Haapsalu
Haapsalu () is a seaside resort town located on the west coast of Estonia. It is the administrative centre of Lääne County, and on 1 January 2020 it had a population of 9,375. Description Haapsalu has been well known for centuries for its warm seawater, curative mud and peaceful atmosphere. Salt mud spas frequented by the Russian Romanov family still operate. Tallinn University Of Technology
Established in 1918, Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech; et, Tallinna Tehnikaülikool) is the only technical university in Estonia. TalTech, in the capital city of Tallinn, is a university for engineering, business, public administration and maritime affairs. TalTech has colleges in Tartu and Kohtla-Järve. Riigikogu
The Riigikogu (; from Estonian ''riigi-'', of the state, and ''kogu'', assembly) is the unicameral parliament of Estonia. Estonian United People's Party
The Constitution Party (''Konstitutsioonierakond''), known until 11 February 2006 as the Estonian United People's Party (''Eestimaa Ühendatud Rahvapartei''), was a political party in Estonia, mainly supported by the Russian minority. For the 1995 elections the party formed the "Our Home is Estonia" alliance with the Russian Party in Estonia. Estonian Reform Party
The Estonian Reform Party ( et, Eesti Reformierakond) is a liberal political party in Estonia. The party has been led by Kaja Kallas since 2018. It is colloquially known as the "Squirrel Party" ( et, Oravapartei). It was founded in 1994 by Siim Kallas, then-president of the Bank of Estonia, as a split from Pro Patria National Coalition Party. As the Reform Party has participated in most of the government coalitions in Estonia since the mid-1990s, its influence has been significant, especially regarding Estonia's free market and policies of low taxation. The Social Democratic Party ( et, Sotsiaaldemokraatlik Erakond, SDE) is a centre-left political party in Estonia. It is currently led by Lauri Läänemets.
