The Serb Democratic Party ( sr, Српска демократска странка/Srpska demokratska stranka or СДС/SDS) is a Serb political party in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its current acting president is Milan Miličević. In the parliamentary elections of October 2006, the SDS lost its status as the leading party in Republika Srpska and the main Serb party in Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), led by the president of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik. Despite making minor gains in the 2010 and 2014 elections, by 2018 the party had fallen to below 20% of the parliament, the lowest seat standing in its history. The party is under sanctions from the United States for "failing to arrest and turn over war crimes suspects to an international tribunal." The Serb Democratic Party (SDS, sr-cyr, Српска демократска странка (СДС)) was a minor political party established in Serbia in 2011 and mostly active in the province of Vojvodina. The party won a single seat in the Assembly of Vojvodina in the 2016 provincial election on the list of the Serbian Progressive Party, after which time it became inactive. History and ideology According to the party's historical website, the SDS was founded in late August 2011 after a founding meeting in Novi Sad. The Democratic Serb Party ( sr, Демократска српска странка, Demokratska srpska stranka; DSS) is a minor conservative political party in Montenegro, representing the Serbs of Montenegro. History The Democratic Serb Party was formed in 2003 following a split from the Serb People's Party led by Božidar Bojović, who was the first party president, and Ranko Kadić, first vice president and his subsequent successor. The New Democratic Party of Serbia ( sr, Нова демократска странка Србије, Nova demokratska stranka Srbije, , NDSS or New DSS) is a national-conservative political party in Serbia. Initially known and formed as Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), the party was formed as a conservative split from the Democratic Party (DS), and has played a key role in the opposition during the 1990s. It was a part of the "Together" coalition and was later a founding member of the Democratic Opposition of Serbia (DOS). Its first leader, Vojislav Koštunica, was elected president of Yugoslavia in 2000, a role which he served until 2003. DSS left the DOS government in 2001, and served in the opposition until the 2003 parliamentary election, after which it managed to form a government with other right-wing parties.
