Serbia At The 2012 Summer Olympics
Serbia competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. This was the nation's third appearance at the Summer Olympics. The Olympic Committee of Serbia sent a total of 116 athletes to the Games, 80 men and 46 women, to compete in 15 sports. Volleyball, men's handball, men's water polo were the only team-based sports in which Serbia had its representation in these Olympic games. Among the sports played by the athletes, Serbia marked its Olympic debut in taekwondo. Notable Serbian athletes featured butterfly swimmer and Olympic silver medalist Milorad Čavić, and world number-one male tennis player and Olympic bronze medalist Novak Djokovic, who was the nation's flag bearer at the opening ceremony. The Olympic Committee of Serbia ( sr, / ) is the National Olympic Committee representing Serbia. It organizes the country's representatives at the Olympic Games and other multisport events. Taekwondo At The 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's +67 Kg
The women's +67 kg competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics was held on 11 August, at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre. Competition format The main bracket consisted of a single elimination tournament, culminating in the gold medal match. Two bronze medals were awarded at the Taekwondo competitions. A repechage was used to determine the bronze medal winners. Every competitor who lost to one of the two finalists competed in the repechage, another single-elimination competition. Each semifinal loser faced the last remaining repechage competitor from the opposite half of the bracket in a bronze medal match. Nikola Rađen ( sr-cyr, Никола Рађен, ) (born 29 January 1985) is a Serbian water polo player who plays for Serbian club Crvena zvezda. He was a member of the Serbia men's national water polo team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He won with Serbia the 2009 World Championship as well as the 2012 Eindhoven European Championship. He is currently free agent and he is a long-standing member of the Serbia men's national water polo team. Duško Pijetlović ( sr-cyr, Душко Пијетловић; 25 April 1985) is a Serbian water polo center forward for VK Novi Beograd. He was a member of the Serbia men's national water polo teams that won Olympic gold medals in 2016 and 2020, and bronze medals at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics. Vanja Udovičić ( sr-Cyrl, Вања Удовичић, ; born 12 September 1982) is a Serbian politician and former professional water polo player who served as minister of youth and sports from 2013 to 2022. An independent politician, he is aligned with the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS). Andrija Zlatić ( sr-cyr, Андрија Златић, born January 25, 1978) is a Serbian sport shooter. He is currently a member of Aleksa Dejović Užice. In 1998 Andrija became junior world champion in shooting in Barcelona, Spain. At the 2002 ISSF World Shooting Championships he won a silver medal.
