Serb People's Party (Montenegro)
The Serb People's Party ( sr, Српска народна странка, СНС / ''Srpska narodna stranka, SNS'') was a political party in Montenegro. The SNS was led by Andrija Mandić. At the last legislative elections in Montenegro, on September 10, 2006, the Serb List, led by the SNS, won 12 out of 81 seats. It was then the largest political group in the Parliament of Montenegro right after the ruling Democratic Party of Socialists-Social Democratic Party coalition. In January 2009, it merged with to People's Socialist Party of Montenegro (NSS) to form the New Serb Democracy. Božidar Bojović
Božidar M. Bojović (Serbian Cyrillic: Божидар М. Бојовић, 1938 – 14 December 2021) was a Montenegrin chief physician, endocrinologist, and politician who was a member of the Parliament of Montenegro and representative in the Parliament of Serbia and Montenegro, legislative body of the FR Yugoslavia, between 1990 and 2005. The People Socialist Party of Montenegro ( sr, Народна социјалистичка странка Црне Горе, НСС ЦГ; ''Narodna socijalistička stranka Crne Gore'', ''NSS CG'') was an opposition political party in Montenegro within the Serbian List due to its support of political union of Montenegro with Serbia, holding 1 seat (represented by MP Emilo Labudović) in the Assembly of the Republic of Montenegro. The Democratic Serb Party ( sr, Демократска српска странка, Demokratska srpska stranka; DSS) is a minor conservative political party in Montenegro, representing the Serbs of Montenegro. 2006 Montenegrin Independence Referendum
An independence referendum was held in Montenegro on 21 May 2006. By 23 May, preliminary referendum results were recognized by all five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, suggesting widespread international recognition if Montenegro were to become formally independent. On 31 May, the referendum commission officially confirmed the results of the referendum, verifying that 55.5% of the population of Montenegrin voters had voted in favor of independence. 1998 Montenegrin Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Montenegro on 31 May 1998. The result was a victory for the So that we live better coalition formed by the Democratic Party of Socialists of Montenegro, Social Democratic Party of Montenegro and the People's Party of Montenegro which won 42 of the 78 seats. Electoral system Of the 78 seats in Parliament, 76 were elected by proportional representation in a nationwide constituency and two were elected in a special constituency for the Albanian minority. Novak Kilibarda, PhD ( cyrl, Новак Килибарда; born 7 January 1934) is a Montenegro, Montenegrin former politician, professor, literary historian and writer. Early life and education Kilibarda was born on 7 January 1934 in the village of Tupan in Banjani, Nikšić. His father Gavrilo was a farmer, his mother Plana (Given name#Name at birth, ''née'' Vukalović) was a housewife. He attended elementary school in the village of Velimlje and high school in Nikšić. Kilibarda graduated from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Philology in 1958, with a degree in Yugoslav literature (other), Yugoslav literature. After graduating, he taught at the Višegrad Gymnasium from 1959 to 1961.
