''September Bowl of Green'' is an album by the Canadian band the Grapes of Wrath, released in 1985. The initial vinyl pressing of the album included a cover version of the Beatles song "If I Needed Someone"; it was left off of subsequent pressings. All of the songs were composed by Tom Hooper/Kevin Kane/Chris Hooper. Tom Cochrane remixed some of the tracks. Critical reception '' The Advocate'' opined that "the predominant use of acoustic guitar with electric instruments is nothing new, but the Grapes of Wrath maintains a warm sound without ever once sounding wimpy." The Grapes Of Wrath (band)
The Grapes of Wrath are a platinum-selling Canadian rock band. Formed in 1983, they enjoyed their greatest commercial success in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The group split in 1992, with Kane going solo while Jones and the Hoopers continued to record as Ginger. Vocalists Tom Hooper and Kevin Kane briefly reunited as the Grapes of Wrath for one album in 2000. With the return of Chris Hooper for a festival appearance in 2010, the three founding members were back together and have continued to perform and record since. Tom Cochrane
Thomas William Cochrane ( ; born May 14, 1953) is a Canadian musician best known as the frontman for the rock band Red Rider and for his work as a solo singer-songwriter. Cochrane has won eight Juno Awards. He is a member of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, an officer of the Order of Canada, and has an honorary doctorate from Brandon University. In September 2009, he was inducted onto the Canadian Walk of Fame. "If I Needed Someone" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles, written by George Harrison, the group's lead guitarist. It was released in December 1965 on their album ''Rubber Soul'', except in North America, where it appeared on the June 1966 release '' Yesterday and Today''. The song reflects the reciprocal influences shared between the Beatles and American band the Byrds. On release, it was widely considered to be Harrison's best song to date. A recording by the Hollies was issued in Britain on the same day as ''Rubber Soul'' and peaked at number 20 on the national singles chart.
