On September 24, 2005, many protests against the 2003 invasion of Iraq and the Iraq War took place. United States Washington, D.C. Protesters from around the country joined the march in Washington, D.C. organized by ANSWER Coalition and United for Peace and Justice to promote peace and an end to the war in Iraq. Organizers claim that around 300,000 people attended the demonstration. The 2003 invasion of Iraq was a United States-led invasion of the Republic of Iraq and the first stage of the Iraq War.
