Charles Logan is a fictional character played by Gregory Itzin in the television series '' 24''. During the show's fourth season, Logan is the Vice President of the United States who is sworn into office as President of the United States when former President John Keeler is critically injured in a terrorist attack. Subsequently, Logan's administration fell into corruption. The show's fifth season sees him engage in a massive conspiracy to solidify United States oil interests. Logan appears in the fifth and eighth seasons as the primary antagonist. George Logan (Pennsylvania Politician)
George Logan (September 9, 1753April 9, 1821) was an American physician, farmer, legislator and politician from Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. He served in the Pennsylvania state legislature and represented Pennsylvania in the United States Senate. Early life, education, and marriage George Logan was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 9, 1753. He was the grandson of William Penn's secretary James Logan. As a child, he was sent to England for schooling, and later his Loyalist family again sent him overseas when the American Revolution broke out, this time to get medical training. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh Medical School in 1779. He returned to the United States in 1780, and in 1781 he married Deborah Norris, who went on to become a noted historian and diarist. William Logan (Kentuckian)
William Logan (December 8, 1776August 8, 1822) was a United States Senator from Kentucky. Born within the fort at Harrodsburg, Logan spent his early childhood in St. Asaphs Fort, receiving private instruction from his parents and tutors. He moved to Shelby County about 1798. He studied law, was admitted to the bar, and practiced. He was delegate to Kentucky's constitutional convention in 1799 and worked as a state commissioner in siting the new Barren County's seat of government (at Glasgow, a new settlement probably named for the Scottish hometown of Logan's father) the same year. Logan was a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives from 1803 to 1806 and again in 1808, and served as speaker two terms. He was a judge of the court of appeals from 1808 to 1812. Edward Lawrence Logan
Edward Lawrence Logan (January 20, 1875 – July 6, 1939) was an American lawyer, judge, military officer, and politician. While still a student, Logan enlisted in the Massachusetts 9th infantry during the Spanish–American War. Upon returning to Boston, he ran successfully for a seat on the Boston City Council in 1899, and subsequently won election to the Massachusetts state legislature as both a representative, and later as a state senator. Rising to the rank of major general following World War I, he was given command of the 26th Infantry Division of the United States Army. Logan was instrumental in the post–World War I reorganization of that unit, as well as the Massachusetts National Guard. He would go on to serve as head of The American Legion's Department of Massachusetts. Henry Logan (April 14, 1784 – December 26, 1866) was an American politician from Pennsylvania who served as a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives for Pennsylvania's 11th congressional district from 1835 to 1839. Henry Logan was born near Dillsburg, Pennsylvania. He volunteered for the defense of Baltimore in 1814 during the War of 1812, and served as captain in the Nineteenth Regiment, Second Brigade, Fifth Division, Pennsylvania Militia. He was commissioned lieutenant colonel August 1, 1814. He served as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1818 and 1819 and as a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate for the 14th district from 1828 to 1830. John Logan (pioneer)
John Logan (1747July 1807) was a military officer, farmer and politician from Virginia who became a pioneer in and helped found the state of Kentucky. He served under his brother, Benjamin during Lord Dunmore's War in 1774, then both moved to what was then called Kentucky County, Virginia. Logan took part in several expeditions against the Shawnee, including some led by Daniel Boone, John Bowman, and George Rogers Clark. After Kentucky County was split into three counties, Logan and his brother at various times represented Lincoln in the Virginia House of Delegates, and John Logan also represented that county at the Virginia Ratification Convention in 1788. When Kentucky became a state in 1792, Logan briefly served in the Kentucky Senate, before accepting appointment as the state's first treasurer, an office he held continuously until his death in 1807.
