Johnny Grant (politician)
Johnny Grant is an American politician. He most recently served as a Republican Georgia State Senator representing the 25th district of Georgia. His district included the counties of: Baldwin, Butts, Greene, Hancock, Jasper, Jones (Pt.), Morgan, Putnam, Taliaferro, Warren (Pt.). Grant was first elected to the state legislature in 2004. Early life and education Grant is a graduate of Georgia Tech and has a Masters from Georgia College & State University in public administration. Career Grant won re-election in 2006–2010. He was defeated in the Republican Primary in 2012. Levi Grant
Levi Grant (April 25, 1810April 12, 1891) was an American farmer, businessman, and pioneer of Kenosha County, Wisconsin. He was a member of the Wisconsin State Senate, representing Kenosha County in the 1854 session. He was a distant cousin of Ulysses S. Grant. Biography Levi Grant was born on April 25, 1810, in New Berlin, New York. He received a basic education, and then, at age 15, went to work as an apprentice in paper manufacturing. He pursued that profession and worked for five years as foreman of a paper mill in Greene County, New York. In this role, he produced the paper for the first edition of the ''Albany Evening Journal'', edited by Thurlow Weed. In 1836, he went west to the Wisconsin Territory and settled in the town of Bristol, in what is now Kenosha County, Wisconsin. Norman Grant (politician)
Norman Washington Grant, , is a Jamaican politician. A member of the People's National Party, he is a former senator and was president of the Jamaican Agricultural Society (JAS) from 2003 to 2009 and 2012 to 2018. Career A member of the People's National Party (PNP), Grant was elected to the Senate of Jamaica in 2001, 2002, 2008, and 2011, as a member of the agricultural sector in the senate's Upper House. From 2003 to 2009, Grant was the president of the Jamaican Agricultural Society (JAS). As JAS president, Grant spearheaded the successful "Eat Jamaican" initiative which encouraged Jamaicans to consume more local produce. Launched in November 2003, the programme reduced Jamaican import expenditure by around US$500 million after some twelve years, and increased local agricultural output by roughly by 2017.
