Bob Crawford (Florida Politician)
Robert Bruce Crawford III (born January 26, 1948) is an American former politician who served as Florida Commissioner of Agriculture and a legislator in the Florida State House and Senate. He graduated from Bartow High School. Crawford earned a Business and Finance degree from University of Miami. He worked as a financial planner and started a property management company with his wife, Nancy. Crawford was senate president from 1988 until 1990. As Senate President he helped push for funding of the Polk Parkway, created the largest transportation funding act in the state's history and guided the approval of a land preservation program that has since protected thousands of acres of environmentally sensitive land. A member of the Democratic Party, he represented Winter Haven and the surrounding areas in the House and Senate. He argued for a higher cigarette tax in 1986. Joel Crawford (June 15, 1783 – April 5, 1858) was an American politician, soldier and lawyer. Crawford was born in Columbia County, Georgia. He attended the Litchfield Law School in Connecticut. After receiving admission to the state bar, he began practice in Sparta, Georgia. In 1811, Crawford moved to Milledgeville, Georgia. During the Creek War, Crawford was a second lieutenant and '' aide-de-camp'' to Brigadier General John Floyd from 1813 to 1814. After the war, he returned to practicing law the in Milledgeville. In 1814, Crawford was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives and served in the body until 1817. In 1816, Fort Crawford was built in Mississippi Territory and possibly named for Crawford. Crawford was elected to represent Georgia in the United States House of Representatives as a Republican during the 15th United States Congress. Sue Crawford (born January 10, 1967) née Sue Steinhauser, is a politician from the U.S. state of Nebraska. She represents District 45, which includes the city of Bellevue and Offutt Air Force Base, in the Nebraska Legislature. Education Crawford received her BS in political science from Truman State University in 1989. In 1995, she completed her PhD from Indiana University Bloomington in the fields of American government and public policy, with a concentration in public management. While at IU, Crawford worked closely and co-published with Elinor Ostrom, a Nobel Prize winner in economics. Elections Crawford was first elected to represent Nebraska's 45th District in 2012. Victor L. Crawford (April 19, 1932 – March 2, 1996) was an American lawyer and politician. Born in Richmond, Virginia. Crawford went to Hargrave Military Academy and to the Washington, D.C. public schools. Crawford served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1955. In 1958, Crawford received his bachelor's degree from University of Maryland and his law degree from Georgetown Law Center in 1960.
