Self Esteem (musician)
Rebecca Lucy Taylor (born 15 October 1986), also known by her stage name as Self Esteem, is an English singer-songwriter and actress. The inspiration for her stage name comes from the evolution of Taylor's confidence from her early 20s. Early life Taylor was born in Rotherham, England. Her father was a steelworker, and her mother was a secretary. Career Taylor was previously a member of folk duo Slow Club, which formed in Sheffield in 2006. The band consisted of multi-instrumentalists Charles Watson and Taylor, with Watson on the piano, Taylor on the drums, and both performing guitars and vocals. The band split up in 2017, following an extensive tour to support their last album, owing to differing musical interests and Taylor feeling unfulfilled. Rotherham
Rotherham () is a large minster and market town in South Yorkshire, England. The town takes its name from the River Rother which then merges with the River Don. The River Don then flows through the town centre. It is the main settlement of the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham. Rotherham is also the third largest settlement in South Yorkshire after Sheffield and Doncaster, which it is located between. Traditional industries included glass making and flour milling. Almeida Theatre
The Almeida Theatre, opened in 1980, is a 325-seat producing house with an international reputation, which takes its name from the street on which it is located, off Upper Street, in the London Borough of Islington. The theatre produces a diverse range of drama. Successful plays are often transferred to West End theatres. Early history The theatre was built in 1837 for the newly formed Islington Literary and Scientific Society and included a library, reading room, museum, laboratory, and a lecture theatre seating 500. The architects were the fashionable partnership of Robert Lewis Roumieu and Alexander Dick Gough. The Q Awards were the UK's annual music awards run by the music magazine '' Q''. Since they began in 1990, the Q Awards became one of Britain's biggest and best publicised music awards. Locations for the awards ceremony included Abbey Road Studios and near the end of its life, The Park Lane Ballroom. One of the more notable events of the awards was the ceremony of 2004, at which Elton John accused Madonna of cheating fans by miming on stage, after she had been nominated for a Best Live Act award. ''Interplanetary Class Classics'' is the debut studio album from Sheffield-based rock band The Moonlandingz. It was released on March 24, 2017, through Transgressive Records in Europe and by Chimera Music in the United States. ''Prima Facie'' is a one-woman play by Suzie Miller. The plot follows Tessa, a criminal defense barrister whose view of the legal system changes after she is sexually assaulted. Productions Australia ''Prima Facie'' premiered in 2019, at the Stables Theatre in Sydney, Australia. The production, directed by Lee Lewis and starring Sheridan Harbridge, ran from 17 May to 22 June. It won the 2020 AWGIE Award for Drama and the 2020 Major AWGIE Award from the Australian Writers' Guild.
