Ken Andrews
Ken Andrews (born Kenneth Andrew Doty; June 18, 1967) is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer. Andrews was born in Seattle, Washington, and attended film school in Los Angeles before his band Failure received a record deal from Slash Records. Career He is best known as co-founder, lead vocalist, guitarist, bassist and co-songwriter of the alternative rock band Failure. He has also played in Replicants, a cover band side project that also included members of Tool. After the breakup of Failure in 1997, he also recorded music under the moniker ON, and later assembled and fronted the band Year of the Rabbit. He has performed as a solo artist, as well as collaborating in a self-described "digital band" called Digital Noise Academy with Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Sharky Laguana (Creeper Lagoon), Jordon Zadorozny, and Charlotte Martin (whom Andrews married in 2005), among others. Justin Meldal-Johnsen (born March 26, 1970) is an American musician, record producer, songwriter and musical director. He is best known for his work with artists such as Beck, Paramore, Nine Inch Nails, M83, Air, and St. Vincent. Meldal-Johnsen served as the touring bassist, guitarist, and keyboardist for Nine Inch Nails between 2008 and 2009, and was Beck's bassist and musical director from 1996 until mid-2016. Nazca Lines
The Nazca Lines are a group of geoglyphs made in the soil of the Nazca Desert in southern Peru. They were created between 500 BCE and 500 CE by people making depressions or shallow incisions in the desert floor, removing pebbles and leaving differently colored dirt exposed. There are two major phases of the Nazca lines, Paracas phase, from 400 to 200 BCE, and Nazca phase, from 200 BCE to 500 CE. In the years leading up to 2020, between 80 and 100 new figures had been found with the use of drones, and archaeologists believe that there are more to be found. Failure is an American alternative rock band from Los Angeles that was active from 1990 to 1997 and from 2014 to the present. They have released six full-length albums and five EPs. ON was a solo project of Ken Andrews, which he started after the breakup of his previous band, Failure (band), Failure. The music of ON was not unlike that of Failure in terms of Songwriter, songwriting, but the overall sound was more based on Electronic music, electronics, with less emphasis on guitars and the typical Hard rock, heavy rock sound. ON was signed to Epic Records in 1999, and the first single, "Soluble Words", was released late that year. It contains four versions of the song, including a remix by Martin Gore of Depeche Mode, and an exclusive track called "Your Sister Says John" (written by Andrews' friend Jordon Zadorozny of Blinker the Star). After several months, ON's album ''Shifting Skin'' was released in June 2000. Year Of The Rabbit (Band)
Year of the Rabbit is a rock band assembled and fronted by Ken Andrews, formerly of Failure (band), Failure and ON (music), ON. After the commercial disappointment of ON, Andrews and ON's touring drum kit, drummer Tim Dow (formerly of Shiner (band), Shiner and Season to Risk) first recruited Dow's friend Jeff Garber (lead guitar/background vocals, formerly of National Skyline and Castor (band), Castor). Solomon Snyder (bass/background vocals, formerly of Cupcakes and Dovetail Joint (band), Dovetail Joint) came on board shortly thereafter. Whereas ON's material had been created mostly by Andrews as a solo project, the harder-rocking sound of Year of the Rabbit was much closer to that of his previous band, Failure.
