Antonio Salandra
Antonio Salandra (13 August 1853 – 9 December 1931) was a conservative Italian politician who served as the 21st prime minister of Italy between 1914 and 1916. He ensured the entry of Italy in World War I on the side of the Triple Entente (the United Kingdom, France, and the Russian Empire) to fulfil Italy’s irredentist claims. Early life and political career Born in Troia (Province of Foggia, Apulia), he graduated from the University of Naples in 1875 and then became instructor and later professor of administrative law at the University of Rome. He was Minister of Agriculture (1899–1900) in the conservative government of Luigi Pelloux and subsequently Minister of the Treasury (1906) and Italian Minister of Finance (1909–1910) in the governments of Sidney Sonnino. Camillo Corsi ( Rome, 13 May 1860 - Rome, 17 July 1921) was an Italian admiral and politician. He served as Minister of the Navy of the Kingdom of Italy in the second Salandra government and the Boselli government. Early life Corsi was the son of Tito Corsi and his wife Teresa Mazzetti. He enrolled at the ''Scuola di marina'' in 1874 and embarked on a naval career when he graduated in 1879. He took part in the Italo-Ethiopian War of 1887–1889 as a ''tenente'' ( lieutenant. In 1905 he was made chief of staff of Minister of the Navy Carlo Mirabello, where he assisted with the task of modernising and developing the Italian '' Regia Marina'' ("Royal Navy"). Leone Viale (Ventimiglia, 24 August 1851 – Genoa, 2 February 1918) was an Italian admiral and politician. He was Minister of the Navy of the Kingdom of Italy in the first Salandra government, first and second Salandra governments at the time when Italy entered the First World War. Early life and career Leone Viale was the son of Agostino Viale and Adelaide Leone. After the death of his father, his entire family left the town of his birth. He entered the Italian Naval Academy in Genoa on 1 December 1866, and graduated as an ensign on 26 February 1871.
