TSN's coverage of Curling consists of the Curling Canada, Continental Cup of Curling, the TSN Skins Game, the World Curling Championships, and Olympic Curling. Curling Canada TSN originally broadcast Curling Canada (known through February 2015 as the Canadian Curling Association, or CCA) events, including the opening rounds of the Montana's Brier, the Scotties Tournament of Hearts from 1984-2003. CBC Sports, who had previously shared rights with TSN, became the sole broadcaster of CCA tournaments in 2004. The CCA terminated their deal with the CBC after one season. The CBC was criticized by the CCA, curling fans, and sponsors after the network moved some of its coverage to the digital cable channel CBC Country Canada. The Sports Network
The Sports Network (TSN) is a Canadian English language sports specialty channel established by the Labatt Brewing Company in 1984 as part of the first group of Canadian specialty cable channels. Since 2001, it has been majority-owned by communications conglomerate BCE Inc. (presently through its broadcasting subsidiary Bell Media), with a minority stake held by ESPN Inc. via a 30% share in the Bell Media subsidiary CTV Specialty Television. Russ Howard
Russell W. "Russ" Howard, CM, ONL (born February 19, 1956 in Midland, Ontario) is a Canadian curler and Olympic champion, based in Regina, Saskatchewan, but originally from Midland, Ontario. He lived in Moncton, New Brunswick from 2000 to 2019. Known for his gravelly voice, Howard has been to the Brier 14 times (8 as Ontario, 6 as New Brunswick), winning the title twice (both as Ontario). He is also a two-time world champion, winning in 1987 and 1993. He has also won three TSN Skins Games in 1991, 1992, and 1993, and participated in two Canadian Mixed Curling Championships in 2000 and 2001. Curling Broadcasters
Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles. It is related to bowls, boules, and shuffleboard. Two teams, each with four players, take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones, also called ''rocks'', across the ice ''curling sheet'' toward the ''house'', a circular target marked on the ice. 2013 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials
The 2013 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials (branded as the 2013 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings for sponsorship reasons) were held from December 1 to 8 at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The winners of the men's and women's events were chosen to represent Canada at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Qualification process The qualification process for the 2013 Olympic trials differed slightly from the process used at the 2009 Trials. For both the men's and women's events, a pool of 18 teams were designated as eligible to represent Canada at the 2014 Winter Olympics, based on rankings from the Canadian Team Ranking System (CTRS). From the pool of 18, six teams were selected to qualify directly to the Trials. The 12 remaining teams competed in a pre-trial tournament from November 5–10 in Kitchener, where the top two teams in each division qualified to the eight-team draw for the Trials proper. Glenn Healy
Glenn Healy (born August 23, 1962) is a Canadian former ice hockey goaltender who played for 15 years in the National Hockey League. Prior to that, he was a member of the Western Michigan University hockey team, and 1985 graduate of the school. Rod Black
Rod Black (born September 28, 1962) is a Canadian sports announcer best known for his work with CTV Sports and TSN from 1990 to 2021. He is now a host and brand ambassador for NorthStar Bets, a brand of NorthStar Gaming. Education Black was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. David Nedohin
David Nedohin (born December 20, 1973) is a Canadian curler. Nedohin was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and now plays out of Sherwood Park, Alberta. He is best known as the longtime fourth for Randy Ferbey. Curling career Nedohin joined the Randy Ferbey rink in 1997 and was a part of that team's four Brier championships and three world championships. Nedohin is renowned for his shotmaking ability - especially for making difficult combination takeout shots. Nedohin had a shooting percentage of 96% in the final of the 2003 Nokia Brier, and 95% shooting percentage in the final of the 2005 Men's Ford World Curling Championships. The team, famously named The Ferbey Four, popularized the "fourth" shooting position. Because of Nedohin's shotmaking ability, he threw the last two stones in each end, or the ''skip rocks''.
