Sean Gannon (footballer)
Sean Gannon (born 11 July 1991) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a defender for Shelbourne in the League of Ireland Premier Division. He previously played for Shamrock Rovers (over 2 spells), St Patrick's Athletic and Dundalk and has won 10 League of Ireland Premier Division winners medals. Gannon has featured regularly in European competition for Dundalk and was part of their team that became only the second Irish side ever to reach the group stage of the UEFA Europa League in August 2016. Early life Gannon grew up in Ringsend and regularly attended Republic of Ireland matches with his father at the nearby Lansdowne Road. He was a ball boy in several games, most notably a 1–1 draw with Portugal in the 2002 World Cup qualifiers. Ball boys and ball girls, also known as ball kids are individuals, usually human youths but sometimes dogs, who retrieve and supply balls for players or officials in sports such as association football, American football, bandy, cricket, tennis, baseball and basketball. Liam Buckley
Liam Buckley (born 14 April 1960), is an Irish former professional footballer. He made two appearances for the Republic of Ireland national football team. He was most recently the manager of League of Ireland Premier Division club Sligo Rovers FC. Playing career Buckley began his League of Ireland career with Shelbourne and signed for Shamrock Rovers as a full-time player in the 1979 close season. He scored his first goal for the Hoops against his former club at Milltown on 21 October 1979 and he went on to score another seven league goals that season. On 30 April 1980 he represented the League of Ireland against Argentina at the River Plate Stadium where Diego Maradona scored in a 1–0 defeat. Trevor Croly
Trevor Croly, (born 23 February 1974), is an Irish football coach and former player who is currently assistant manager of Bohemians in the League of Ireland Premier Division. Playing career Drogheda United Croly started his career with Drogheda United signing a one-year amateur deal under Pat Devlin. He made his League of Ireland debut at the RDS Arena against Shamrock Rovers on the opening day of the 1992–93 League of Ireland Premier Division season. St Patrick's Athletic Football Club ( ga, Cumann Peile Lúthchleas Phádraig Naofa) is a professional Irish association football club based in Inchicore, Dublin, that plays in the Irish Premier Division. Founded in May 1929, they played originally in Phoenix Park but they moved to their current ground Richmond Park in 1939. The Leinster Senior Cup is an association football cup competition organized by the Leinster Football Association. Craig Stuart Sives (born 9 April 1986) is a Scottish former professional association football player who played as a defender and current assistant manager of Heriot-Watt University. Sivers began his career with Edinburgh club Heart of Midlothian, where he made two appearances and was sent on loan to Partick Thistle and Queen of the South. Irishtown Stadium
The Irishtown Stadium is an association football stadium in the Republic of Ireland based in Ringsend/Irishtown, Dublin. It was originally built in the 1950s and used as a home ground by Shelbourne F.C. However Shels only spent one season, 1955–56, playing competitive first-team matches there. The stadium was renovated in 2004 through funding provided by the city council along with Dublin Docklands Development Authority and the National Lottery, and is now managed by Dublin City Council. Irishtown Stadium features a pavilion which contains a fully equipped gymnasium, an aerobics studio and meeting rooms. Andrew "Andy" Myler (born 2 December 1975, Dublin) is a former League of Ireland footballer, and current manager of UCD AFC Playing career He began his professional career at UCD where he made his League debut at St. James's Gate F.C. on 9 January 1994. He scored his first league goal on his first start at Longford Town on 27 March 1994. His first league hat trick was against Finn Harps on 6 September 1996. He also played for Newry Town, Monaghan United, Athlone Town, Waterford United and Drogheda United before Longford.
