Clarence Seamans
Clarence Walker Seamans (June 5, 1854 – May 30, 1915) was an American typewriter manufacturer and executive of several organizations involved in the production and sale of the Remington typewriter, including the Union Typewriter Company and the Remington Typewriter Company. History Early life Seamans was born June 5, 1854, in Ilion, New York to Abner Clark Seamans and Caroline Matilda Williams.Homans 1918, p. 517 Seamans began work as a clerk at E. Remington and Sons, the firm at which his father was a purchasing agent, at the age of fifteen. In 1875, he began a three-year stint of overseeing a silver mine in Bingham Canyon, Utah. Upon returning to the state of New York (state), New York, Seamans became a bookkeeper and salesman at Fairbanks & Company, a scale manufacturer. Fairbanks had become the sole marketer of the Sholes and Glidden typewriter, produced by Seaman's former employer, E. Remington and Sons. Hubert Seamans
Hubert James Seamans (born June 30, 1951), is a businessman and former political figure in New Brunswick, Canada. He represented Riverview in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick from 1985 to 1991 as a Liberal member. He was born in Saint George, New Brunswick, the son of Whitman Hubert Seamans and Jean Nells MacDonald. He was educated at Mount Allison University, the Royal Roads Military College and the University of New Brunswick. In 1973, Seamans married Elizabeth Ann McLaughlin. Seamans served on the town council for Riverview. He was first elected to the provincial assembly in a 1985 by-election held after Brenda Robertson was named to the Canadian Senate. Robert Channing Seamans Jr. (October 30, 1918 – June 28, 2008) was an MIT professor who served as NASA Deputy Administrator and 9th United States Secretary of the Air Force. Birth and education He was born in Salem, Massachusetts, to Pauline and Robert Channing Seamans. His great-great-grandfather was Otis Tufts. Seamans attended Lenox School, in Lenox, Massachusetts; earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Harvard University in 1939 or 1940; a Master of Science degree in aeronautics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1942; and a Doctor of Science degree in instrumentation from MIT in 1951. Sam Seamans
Samuel Seamans (born 1967) was an assisting bishop in the Diocese of Mid-America of the Reformed Episcopal Church and the Anglican Church in North America's College of Bishops until he and his parish decided to join the Orthodox Church in November 2015. This community ultimately joined the Ukrainian Orthodox Church USA. He is also rector of St. Thomas the Apostle Orthodox Church in Mountain Home, Arkansas and as well a licensed pilot and Emergency Medical Technician.
