Sprite (creature)
A sprite is a supernatural entity in European mythology. They are often depicted as fairy-like creatures or as an ethereal entity. The word ''sprite'' is derived from the Latin ''spiritus'' ("spirit"), via the French '' esprit''. Variations on the term include ''spright'' and the Celtic ''spriggan''. The term is chiefly used with regard to elves and fairies in European folklore, and in modern English is rarely used in reference to spirits. Belief in sprites The belief in diminutive beings such as sprites, elves, fairies, etc. has been common in many parts of the world, and might to some extent still be found within neo-spiritual and religious movements such as "neo-druidism" and Ásatrú. In some elemental magics, the sprite is often believed to be the elemental of air (see also sylph). Sea Sprite Sailing Yachts
Sea Sprite sailing yachts is a family of US built sailing vessels. The series includes the following yachts, a 23', 28', 30', and a 34'. They were all simply designated Sea Sprites. The twin sails in a following seas emblem is well known in the yachting world. Sea Sprites are being sailed throughout the world, with the largest concentration in New England waters. Narragansett Bay and Buzzards Bay are prime waters for these classic yachts. The Sea Sprite 23, designed by famous naval architect Carl Alberg was first produced in 1958. The Sea Sprite 27, 30 and 34 were designed by Alfred E. (Bill) Luders Jr. The series share their full keel, sea friendly design. Kaman SH-2 Seasprite
The Kaman SH-2 Seasprite is a ship-based helicopter originally developed and produced by American manufacturer Kaman Aircraft Corporation. It has been typically used as a compact and fast-moving rotorcraft for utility and anti-submarine warfare missions. Development of the Seasprite had been initiated during the late 1950s in response to a request from the United States Navy, calling for a suitably fast and compact naval helicopter for utility missions. Kaman's submission, internally designated as the ''K-20'', was favourably evaluated, leading to the issuing of a contract for the construction of four prototypes and an initial batch of 12 production helicopters, designated as the ''HU2K-1''. Under the 1962 United States Tri-Service aircraft designation system, the HU2K was redesignated H-2, the HU2K-1 becoming the UH-2A.
