Sea Fury (1958 Film)
''Sea Fury'' is a 1958 British action film directed by Cy Endfield and starring Stanley Baker, Victor McLaglen (in his final film), Luciana Paluzzi and Grégoire Aslan. It was the last film appearance from Victor McLaglen. Plot A qualified First Mate Abel Hewson arrives in a Spanish seaside town looking for work on local ships salvaging still afloat abandoned ships. Abel Hewson and Captain Bellew become love rivals for 18 years old Josita. Both men go on a dangerous mission to salvage a floating wreck carrying explosives which will detonate on contact with any water, on which this rivalry comes between them and their work. The tug-boat crew also resent Abel Hewson being made their First Mate, especially Gorman. They are also competing against another tug-boat operator Captain Mulder for the salvage prize. Cy Endfield
Cyril Raker Endfield (November 10, 1914 – April 16, 1995) was an American screenwriter, director, author, magician and inventor. Having been named as a Communist at a House Un-American Activities Committee hearing and subsequently blacklisted, he moved to the United Kingdom in 1953, where he spent the remainder of his career. Early life Endfield was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to a Jewish immigrant father whose business was hit hard by the Great Depression. He attended Yale University. Career in the U.S. Endfield began his career as a theatre director and drama coach, becoming a significant figure in New York's progressive theatre scene. It was largely through a shared interest in magic that Orson Welles became aware of Endfield and recruited him as an apprentice for Mercury Productions (then based at RKO Pictures). Roger Caesar Marius Bernard de Delgado Torres Castillo Roberto (1 March 1918 – 18 June 1973) was a British actor. He played many roles on television, radio and in films, and had "a long history of playing minor villains" before becoming best known as the first actor to play the Master in ''Doctor Who'' (1971–73).
