Scottish Centre For Enabling Technologies
The Scottish Centre for Enabling Technologies is a collaborative initiative between the University of the West of Scotland, and The Digital Design Studio in Glasgow School of Art. The Centre is a SEEKIT project co-funded by the two partner universities, the Scottish Government and Scottish Enterprise, and as such it is tasked with working with Scottish companies to assist them in exploiting the latest technologies. The Centre offers a range of free services such as technology advice and guidance, as well as a £5000 feasibility study grant. University Of The West Of Scotland
The University of the West of Scotland ( gd, Oilthigh na h-Alba an Iar), formerly the University of Paisley, is a public university with four campuses in south-western Scotland, in the towns of Paisley, Renfrewshire, Paisley, Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, Blantyre, Dumfries and Ayr, as well as a campus in London, London, England. The present institution dates from August 2007, following the merger of the University of Paisley with Bell College, Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, Hamilton. It can trace its roots to the late 19th century, and has undergone numerous name changes and mergers over the last century, reflecting its gradual expansion throughout the west of Scotland region. Glasgow School Of Art
The Glasgow School of Art (GSA; gd, Sgoil-ealain Ghlaschu) is a higher education art school based in Glasgow, Scotland, offering undergraduate degrees, post-graduate awards (both taught and research-led), and PhDs in architecture, fine art, and design. The school is housed in a number of buildings in the centre of Glasgow, upon Garnethill, an area first developed by William Harley of Blythswood Hill in the early 1800s. The most famous of its buildings was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in phases between 1896 and 1909. The eponymous Mackintosh Building soon became one of the city's iconic landmarks and stood for over 100 years. It is an icon of the Modern Style (British Art Nouveau style). The building was severely damaged by fire in May 2014 and destroyed by a second fire in June 2018, with only the burnt-out shell remaining. Scottish Enterprise is a non-departmental public body of the Scottish Government which encourages economic development, enterprise, innovation and investment in business. The body covers the eastern and central parts of Scotland whilst similar bodies, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and South of Scotland Enterprise, operate in north-western and southern Scotland, respectively.
