Scottie
The Scottish Terrier ( gd, Abhag Albannach; also known as the Aberdeen Terrier), popularly called the Scottie, is a breed of dog. Initially one of the highland breeds of terrier that were grouped under the name of ''Skye Terrier'', it is one of five breeds of terrier that originated in Scotland, the other four being the modern Skye, Cairn, Dandie Dinmont, and West Highland White terriers. They are an independent and rugged breed with a wiry outer coat and a soft dense undercoat. The First Earl of Dumbarton nicknamed the breed "the diehard". According to legend, the Earl of Dumbarton gave this nickname because of the Scottish Terriers' bravery, and Scotties were also the inspiration for the name of his regiment, The Royal Scots, Dumbarton’s Diehard. Scottie Scheffler
Scott Alexander Scheffler (born June 21, 1996) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. From March to October 2022, he was World Number 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking. He won the 2022 Masters Tournament. Early life Scheffler was born to Diane and Scott Scheffler in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and lived in Montvale, New Jersey, until age six, when the family moved to Dallas, Texas, in the wake of the September 11 attacks. Scheffler's father Scott was a stay-at-home dad, while his mother Diane worked as a chief operating officer at the law firm Thompson & Knight. His interest in golf began at age 3, when his parents gave him a set of plastic clubs and ball. After the move to Dallas, Scheffler received tutelage at the Royal Oaks Golf Club under instructor Randy Smith, who coached Justin Leonard to a victory at The Open Championship in 1997. Scotties is a facial tissue brand originally owned by the Scott Paper Company, created in 1955. Kimberly-Clark, owner of the rival Kleenex brand, acquired Scott Paper in 1997. For competitive reasons, Federal Register / Vol. 60, No. 246 / Friday, December 22, 1995 it was required to resell the Scotties business in the U.S. and sold it to Irving Tissue while maintaining control of the trademark on the Scotties brand. Kruger Inc. separately acquired Scott's Canadian subsidiary, now known as Kruger Products, which sells Scotties tissues there. The brand is well known in Canada for its sponsorship of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, often simply called the Scotties. Scottie Wilson (28 February 1891 – 1972), born Louis Freeman (birth certificate says Lewis), was a Scottish, Jewish, outsider artist known particularly for his highly detailed style. Starting his artistic career at the age of 44, his work was admired and collected by the likes of Jean Dubuffet and Pablo Picasso and is generally accepted to be in the forefront of 20th-century outsider art. Scottie Jordan Wilbekin (born April 5, 1993) is an American-born naturalized Turkish professional basketball player for Fenerbahçe Beko of the Turkish Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL) and the EuroLeague. He played college basketball for the Florida Gators, where he was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Year in 2014. Scott Upshall (born October 7, 1983) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left winger. He was selected in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft by the Nashville Predators in the first round, sixth overall. Playing career Amateur As a youth, Upshall played in the 1996 and 1997 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments with a minor ice hockey team from Fort McMurray. Upshall played with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the AJHL in 1999-2000 as a sixteen-year-old. In 52 games, Upshall had 26 goals and 52 points, helping the Oil Barons to the Royal Bank Cup.
