Scott Taylor (Australian Footballer)
Scott Taylor (born 22 October 1976) is a former Australian rules footballer who played one game for Footscray in the Australian Football League (AFL) in 1996. He was recruited from the Geelong Falcons in the TAC Cup with the 66th selection in the 1994 AFL Draft. He broke his foot in his debut AFL game in 1996. Geelong Falcons
The Geelong Falcons is a youth Australian rules football representative club in the NAB League, the Victorian statewide under-18s competition, Victoria, Australia. The club takes in talented junior players from the Geelong, Colac and Warrnambool regions in order to prepare them for AFL selection. There is an under-15 V-Line cup side and an under-16 side, but the club's main focus is its under-18 side, who play a longer season. In 2007, Jimmy Bartel became the first ex-Falcon to win the AFL Brownlow Medal, for the league's best and fairest player, while Jonathan Brown became the first ex-Falcon to win the Coleman Medal for the most goals in the season. TAC Cup
The NAB League Boys (also referred to as simply the NAB League and formerly known as the TAC Cup) is an under-19 Australian rules football representative competition held in Australia. It is based on geographic regions throughout country Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne with each team representing twelve Victorian regions, while a thirteenth team from Tasmania was reintroduced in 2019. The competition is sponsored by National Australia Bank (NAB), having previously been sponsored by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) since its inception. Western Bulldogs
The Western Bulldogs are a professional Australian rules football team that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), the sport's premier competition. Founded in 1877 as the Footscray Football Club, and based in West Footscray in the old City of Footscray west of Melbourne, the club won nine premierships in the Victorian Football Association (VFA) before gaining admission to the Victorian Football League (which became the AFL in 1990) in 1925. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). Rookie List
The rookie list is a means for Australian Football League (AFL) clubs to maintain additional players outside the 38-man primary or senior list. Rookie listed players are not eligible to play in AFL home-and-away or finals matches unless they are elevated to the senior list, either to replace a retired player or a player with a long-term injury. Recruitment There are two categories of rookie: Category A and Category B. Category A primarily represents players with a traditional Australian rules football development; Category B rookies are players from non-traditional recruiting backgrounds. Category A rookies are usually placed on the list via the rookie draft, which occurs annually during the off-season, immediately after the pre-season draft. Adam Contessa (born 29 December 1976) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with the Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League (AFL). Contessa, who played reserves level football at North Melbourne Football Club, North Melbourne, made his debut for the Western Bulldogs in 1997. After making just five appearances in two years, Contessa was delisted by the club at the end of the 1998 AFL season, only to be given a second chance when they re-drafted him. He was used in a variety of roles by coach Terry Wallace, including as a tagger, and was a semi regular member of the team in 1999. After missing the first two games of the 2000 season with a virus, Contessa played the remaining 21 games, including an elimination final.
