Scott Coxon
Scott Coxon (born 10 October 1973) is a former professional rugby league footballer who played professionally in the National Rugby League competition. His position of preference was in the Second Row. Playing career A Newcastle Knights, Newcastle junior, Coxon played for the Knights' New South Wales Cup, President's Cup and reserve grade sides but could not break into the first grade side. Seeking first grade opportunities, Coxon moved to the Western Suburbs Magpies in 1998. Over the next two years Coxon ended up making 39 first grade appearances in the National Rugby League. Coxon played in Wests final ever game as a first grade side which was a 60-16 loss against Auckland at Campbelltown Stadium. However, when the club merged with Balmain Tigers, Balmain to form the Wests Tigers for the 2000 season, Coxon was not required for the new team. The Tasman Sea (Māori: ''Te Tai-o-Rēhua'', ) is a marginal sea of the South Pacific Ocean, situated between Australia and New Zealand. It measures about across and about from north to south. The sea was named after the Dutch explorer Abel Janszoon Tasman, who in 1642 was the first known person to cross it. Hibiscus Coast Raiders
The Hibiscus Coast Raiders are a rugby league club based on the Hibiscus Coast, New Zealand. They compete in Auckland Rugby League's Fox Memorial competition and between 2000 and 2005 were also involved in the Bartercard Cup competition. History The club was formed in 1982 by a group of players that included former Kiwi Ken Stirling. In 1997 the club moved from its original location at Edith Hopper Park to Stanmore Bay Reserve. Before Brian McClennan took over as coach in the late 1990s they were a third division side, but the club enjoyed success and growth to the point where in 1998, the Premiers won the Northern Regional Cup and we were invited to move up into the Fox Memorial Tournament. Bartercard Cup
The Bartercard Cup (successor of the Lion Red Cup) was the top level rugby league club competition in New Zealand from 2000 until 2007. For the entire life of the tournament it was sponsored by Bartercard. The cup was administered by the New Zealand Rugby League. The tournament was discontinued by the NZRL in 2007 and was replaced by the Bartercard Premiership in 2008. Franchises The format of the competition changed several times over the life of the competition and in total 24 clubs or franchises competed. In the first season half of the clubs were from Auckland but as the competition went on more and more franchises represented the provinces. The Canterbury Bulls were the only franchise to compete in every season. Wests Tigers
The Wests Tigers are an Australian professional Rugby league, rugby league football team, based in the Inner West and South West Sydney. They have competed in the National Rugby League since being formed at the end of the 1999 NRL season as a joint-venture club between the Balmain Tigers and the Western Suburbs Magpies. The Wests Tigers started playing in the 2000 NRL season and they won their maiden premiership in 2005 NRL season, 2005. It is one of only two clubs (the other being the Newcastle Knights) that has never lost a Grand Final in which it has participated.
