Scott Cooper (baseball)
Scott Kendrick Cooper (born October 13, 1967) is an American former professional baseball third baseman. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, and Kansas City Royals, as well as the Seibu Lions of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). Early years Cooper attended Pattonville High School in nearby Maryland Heights, Missouri, where he was a standout at baseball, and played on their 1986 state championship team. He was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the third round of the 1986 MLB draft. Career Cooper rose through the Red Sox minor league system, playing for the Elmira Pioneers (1986), Greensboro Hornets (1987), Lynchburg Red Sox (1988), New Britain Red Sox (1989), and Pawtucket Red Sox (1990–1991). Scott Cooper (born April 20, 1970) is an American director, screenwriter, producer and actor. He is known for writing and directing ''Crazy Heart'' (2009), ''Out of the Furnace'' (2013), '' Black Mass'' (2015), '' Hostiles'' (2017). Early life and education Cooper was born in Abingdon, Virginia. He is a 1988 graduate of Abingdon High School. Cooper trained as an actor at Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City. He received both his undergraduate degree in 1992 and his Doctor of Humane Letters in 2014 from Hampden–Sydney College in Hampden Sydney, Virginia. Career Cooper spent a decade working as an actor in film and television. He made the switch to directing with 2009's ''Crazy Heart'', starring Jeff Bridges and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Le Papillon (the French word for ''butterfly'', ) is a French restaurant located in San Jose, California. Le Papillon is located on a busy street corner between a hotel and a strip mall. Although the surrounding area is prosaic, the restaurant is "elegant (and expensive)". Customers are pampered by "many people in suits". Le Papillon specializes in contemporary French cuisine. Owner Mike Mashayekh opened Le Papillon in 1977 in a remodeled coffee shop at its current location. Athol Scott Cooper
Athol Scott Cooper (24 October 1892 – 21 December 1970) was an English-born Australian politician. He was born in London to clothier Charles Henry Cooper and Mary Esther Scott. He migrated to Australia around 1910 and served with the Australian Imperial Force during World War I. At around 1922 he married Dorothy Jean Holmes, with whom he had two daughters. He became a farmer, first in New South Wales and then in the Mallee. In 1932 he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly as the United Australia Party member for Dundas, but the narrowness of the result prompted a recount which Cooper lost, and his period as an MP ended. James Scott Cooper
James Cooper (1874 in London, Ontario – 1931) was a Canadian bootlegger who gained prosperity through the prohibition era. Cooper became one of the wealthiest and most powerful bootleggers in Canada. Bootlegging Ontario voted for prohibition of alcohol in October 1919. This law lay out that residents were allowed to purchase liquor for private use only. Saloons and bars were closed, and the only way to consume alcohol was in the privacy of the individual’s home. Because Cooper discovered there was nothing to prevent Ontario distilleries from completing any orders not originating in Ontario, he opened an office across the river in Detroit. By taking orders by phone from customers in Windsor, Cooper was allowed to produce and provide alcohol to his customers.
