Scotland A National Rugby Union Team
The Scotland A team are the second national rugby union team behind the Scottish national side. The first Scotland 'A' fixture took place in 1990. History Unlike association football, where the main team is supposed to be the "A" team, Scotland 'A' in rugby union is actually equivalent to the Scotland B football team. The Scotland 'A' side in rugby union is classed as a senior national side, along with the full national side and the Scotland 7s international side. When players play for any of these 3 senior sides; they commit their nationality to Scotland; and cannot then normally switch nationality to another international side. Scottish Rugby Union
The Scottish Rugby Union (SRU; gd, Aonadh Rugbaidh na h-Alba) is the governing body of rugby union in Scotland. Styled as Scottish Rugby, it is the second oldest Rugby Union, having been founded in 1873. The SRU oversees the national league system, known as the Scottish League Championship, and the Scottish National teams. The Chilean national rugby union team (Spanish: ''Selección de rugby de Chile'') represents Chile in men's international rugby union; it is organised by the Chilean Rugby Federation ( es, Federación Chilena de Rugby). Scott Cummings (rugby Union)
Scott Cummings (born 3 December 1996) is a Scotland international rugby union player who plays for Glasgow Warriors at the Lock position. Rugby Union career Amateur career Cummings first played his rugby for Kelvinside Academy but moved on to the BT Premiership side Glasgow Hawks. He was confirmed as part of SportScotland's academy system in 2013. Cummings has been drafted to Currie in the Scottish Premiership for the 2017-18 season. Murphy Walker (born 25 October 1999) is a Scotland international rugby union player who plays for Glasgow Warriors in the United Rugby Championship. He can play both sides of the scrum, but is more usually found at tighthead. Rugby union career Amateur career Walker played for Dundee HSFP. He played for Strathallan School. Scarlets
The Scarlets () are one of the four professional Welsh rugby union teams and are based in Llanelli, Wales. Their home ground is the Parc y Scarlets stadium. They play in the United Rugby Championship and the European Rugby Champions Cup (which replaced the Heineken Cup from the 2014–15 season). The club was originally named the Llanelli Scarlets but was renamed at the start of the 2008–09 rugby season. The Llanelli Scarlets were founded in 2003, as one of the five (now four) regional teams created by the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU). Javan Sebastian (born 27 September 1994) is a Scotland international rugby union player. He plays as a tighthead prop for the Scarlets. Club career Sebastian has played for Carmarthen Athletic, Llanelli RFC and Carmarthen Quins. Sebastian has represented Wales at under-16 and under-18 level. He was then signed as part of the Scarlets academy programme and made one competitive appearance for the Scarlets against Sale in the LV Cup. Prop (rugby Union)
In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23. Players are not restricted to a single position, although they generally specialise in just one or two that suit their skills and body types. Players that play multiple positions are called "utility players". Forwards compete for the ball in scrums and line-outs and are generally bigger and stronger than the backs. Props push in the scrums, while the hooker tries to secure the ball for their team by "hooking" it back with their heel. Glasgow Warriors are a professional rugby union side from Scotland. The team plays in the United Rugby Championship league and in the European Professional Club Rugby tournaments. Edinburgh Rugby
Edinburgh Rugby (formerly Edinburgh Reivers, Edinburgh Gunners) is one of the two professional rugby union teams from Scotland. The club competes in the United Rugby Championship, along with the Glasgow Warriors, its oldest rival. Edinburgh plays most of its home games at Edinburgh Rugby Stadium. The original Edinburgh District team played the first ever inter-district match against Glasgow District in 1872, winning the match 3–0.
