Schwelm Station
Schwelm station is the most important station in the city of Schwelm in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. All regional and S-Bahn trains stop at the station. Long-distance services pass through without stopping. History The first station building was opened by the Bergisch-Märkische Railway Company on 9 October 1847 along with its Elberfeld–Dortmund line. Since its inauguration, the station has been rebuilt several times, starting in 1865. In 1902, the platforms received a canopy and, on 8 November 1902, an underpass was completed to the second platform. In 1926, Schwelm became a railway junction, when the Witten–Wengern Ost/Schwelm railway was opened by Deutsche Reichsbahn. In 1988, the station became part of the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn, on line S 8 from Hagen via Wuppertal to Mönchengladbach. Recklinghausen Hauptbahnhof
Recklinghausen Hauptbahnhof is a railway station for the city of Recklinghausen in Germany. History The original station opened in 1870 by the Cologne-Minden Railway Company as part of the construction of the Hamburg-Venlo railway. During the Second World War, on April 1, 1945, a heavy bombing raid mostly destroyed the station and tracks. It is commemorated by the bunker built next to the station, in which the Kunsthalle Recklinghausen was established in 1950. An outstanding feature of the architecture of the station building with its glass front is now the clock tower. The new bus station was built in 1998. Up until the renovation of the building, a plaque commemorating the 5000th kilometer of electrified rail of the Deutsche Bundesbahn, was located in the station. Line S 9 is an S-Bahn line on the Rhine-Ruhr network, operated by DB Regio. It runs from Recklinghausen Hbf / Haltern am See in the north through Gladbeck West - Essen Hbf to Hagen (Westphalia) Main Station in the south. Hagen Hauptbahnhof is a railway station serving the city of Hagen in western Germany. It is an important rail hub for the southeastern Ruhr area, offering regional and long distance connections. The Maas-Wupper-Express (RE 13) is a Regional-Express service in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), running from the Dutch border town of Venlo to Hamm in Westphalia. Route Together with the Wupper-Express (RE 4) and Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn line S 8, the Maas-Wupper-Express provides an east-west link between the lower Rhine of Germany and the eastern Ruhr. It runs on the tracks of the Venlo–Viersen, Viersen-Mönchengladbach, Mönchengladbach–Düsseldorf, Düsseldorf–Wuppertal, Wuppertal–Hagen and Hagen–Hamm lines. The Rhein-Münsterland-Express (RE 7) is a Regional-Express service in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). The hourly service initially runs to the south east from Krefeld via Neuss to Cologne and then turns to run to the northeast via Solingen, Wuppertal, Hagen to Münster. Every two hours it continues to Rheine. History Today's RE 7 is the successor to the former ''StädteExpress'' line SE from Aachen via Cologne and Wuppertal to Munster.
