Schussen
The Schussen is a tributary of the Bodensee (Lake Constance), which drains to the Rhine, in the southern portion of Upper Swabia in Baden-Württemberg (Germany). Course From its source, not far from the Lake Feder, around 1.5 kilometers north of Bad Schussenried, where it runs down the watershed between the Rhine and the Danube, to the Bodensee. The river passes south of Aulendorf through its own valley in the northern part of the Altdorf Forests, through the Schussen ravine by Durlesbach and by Mochewangen ( Wolpertswende), and from there into the broad Schussen Valley. The valley was not created by the river itself, but rather during one of the Ice Ages. From there it runs past the small city of Weingarten, and, further, by Ravensburg and through the district of Meckenbeuren, before it enters the Bodensee water in the region of Eriskirch, at the Eriskircher wetlands. Bad Schussenried
Bad Schussenried (; Swabian: ''Schussariad'') is a spa town in Upper Swabia in the district of Biberach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It lies on the Upper Swabian Baroque Route and the Swabian Spa Route. Schussenried Abbey, a former monastery founded in 1183, is located in Bad Schussenried. Its church and Baroque library feature impressive architecture and artwork, including intricate ceiling frescoes. Weingarten, Württemberg
Weingarten (, German for "wine garden"; Low Alemannic: ''Wãẽgaade'') is a town with a population of 25,000 () in Württemberg, in the District of Ravensburg, in the valley of the Schussen River. Together with the southern neighbour cities of Ravensburg and Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance (Bodensee), it forms one of 14 medium-sized infrastructural centres in Baden-Württemberg. The town is seat of the University of Applied Sciences of Ravensburg-Weingarten (''Hochschule Ravensburg-Weingarten'') and of the Teachers' College of Weingarten (''Pädagogische Hochschule Weingarten''). Lake Constance (german: Bodensee, ) refers to three bodies of water on the Rhine at the northern foot of the Alps: Upper Lake Constance (''Obersee''), Lower Lake Constance (''Untersee''), and a connecting stretch of the Rhine, called the Lake Rhine (''Seerhein'').
