Schaffel Beat
Schaffel (the German spelling to match the English pronunciation of "shuffle") is a fusion style of techno and Rock music, rock in which minimal techno's straight-up drum kick is shuffled to Off-beat (music), offbeat emphasis. Often tuplet, triplet eighths are used to create Swing (jazz performance style), swinging rhythms. History Originating from swing and rhythm and blues, R&B roots, the beat was popularized by glam rock performers like T. Rex (band), T. Rex with their 1971 hit "Hot Love (T. Rex song), Hot Love" and Gary Glitter in his 1972 hit "Rock and Roll Part 2". The schaffel beat has remained in use in electronic music genres and can be found in such releases as "Personal Jesus" by Depeche Mode. Minimal Techno
Minimal techno is a subgenre of techno music. It is characterized by a stripped-down aesthetic that exploits the use of repetition and understated development. Minimal techno is thought to have been originally developed in the early 1990s by Detroit-based producers Robert Hood and Daniel Bell (musician), Daniel Bell.Sicko, D., ''Techno Rebels: The Renegades of Electronic Funk'', Billboard Books, 1999, (pp. 199–200). "Rock and Roll" is a song by the English singer Gary Glitter, released in 1972 from his debut studio album, '' Glitter''. Co-written by Glitter and Mike Leander, the song is in two parts: Part 1 is a vocal track with a "Rock and Roll, Rock" chorus and some verses reflecting on the history of the genre, while Part 2 is an instrumental piece aside from the regular exclamation of the word "Hey" in different tones as the only lyric. Techno Genres
Techno is a genre of electronic dance music (EDM) which is generally produced for use in a continuous DJ set, with tempos being in the range from 120 to 150 beats per minute (bpm). The central rhythm is typically in common time ( ) and often characterized by a repetitive four on the floor beat. Artists may use electronic instruments such as drum machines, sequencers, and synthesizers, as well as digital audio workstations. Michael Mayer (musician)
Michael Mayer (born 11 December 1971) is an electronic musician from Cologne, Germany. Mayer is a remixer, DJ and producer, and has released several singles on the Kompakt music label, working with founder Wolfgang Voigt. Mayer has also released music on Kompakt-related labels New Trance Atlantic and Kreisel 99. Biography Mayer was born and raised in Black Forest, Germany. At the age of 20, he moved to Cologne. With the help of Wolfgang and Reinhardt Voigt, he established Kompakt. In 2003, he released a pair of mixes. The first was based on several releases in Kompakt's "Speicher" series, while the second was commissioned by London's Fabric series. The following year, Mayer released a second Speicher mix and finally delivered his long-promised debut album of productions. Depeche Mode are an English electronic music, electronic band formed in Basildon, Essex in 1980.
