''Scenery and Fish'' is the second album by the Canadians, Canadian rock band I Mother Earth, released by Capitol Records, Capitol and EMI in 1996. It is the band's most commercially successful album, going double platinum in Canada. By April 1999, the album had sold 320,000 units in Canada. Writing for the album began around January of 1995, with Recording taking place in the Fall of the same year, and mixing taking place between December 1995 - January 1996. The album was somewhat of a continuance of the band's percussive, Psychedelic music, psychedelic sound, albeit this time with more of a post-grunge twist tinged with elements of both progressive rock and Pop music, pop. Luis Conte (born 16 November 1954) is a Cuban percussionist best-known for his performances in the bands of artists including James Taylor, Madonna, Pat Metheny Group, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Phil Collins, Rod Stewart and Shakira. He began his music career as a studio musician for Latin Jazz acts like Caldera. Conte's live performance and touring career took off when he joined Madonna's touring band in the 1980s. Alex Lifeson
Aleksandar Živojinović, (born 27 August 1953), known professionally as Alex Lifeson (), is a Canadian musician, best known as the guitarist and backing vocalist of the progressive rock band Rush. In 1968, Lifeson co-founded the band that would later become Rush, with drummer John Rutsey and bassist and lead vocalist Jeff Jones. Jones was replaced by Geddy Lee a month later, and Rutsey was replaced by Neil Peart in 1974. Before the band was disbanded in 2018, Lifeson was the only continuous member who stayed in Rush since its inception, and along with bass guitarist/vocalist Geddy Lee, the only member to appear on all of the band's albums. Christian Tanna
Christian Tanna is a Canadian drummer and music event organizer based in Peterborough, Ontario. He is best known for his work with the band I Mother Earth. Early life Tanna was born Christian Koshowski in Hamilton, Ontario. His family moved to Peterborough when he was in elementary school. Tanna began playing drums in high school. Career Tanna, along with his brother, Jagori Tanna, and vocalist Edwin, formed I Mother Earth in 1990. Tanna played on 1993's ''Dig''; in 1994 the band won a Juno Award for Best Rock Album. Bruce Gordon (musician)
Bruce Gordon (born 1968 in London, England) is an English-born Canadian rock musician, best known as the bassist for I Mother Earth. He was born to parents of Scottish and German heritage. He immigrated to Canada with his family at the age of six. They first moved to Edmonton, Alberta but after only a year relocated to Oakville, Ontario, a suburb of Toronto. His exposure to bands such as the Dead Kennedys, Black Flag and Bad Brains inspired him to pick up the bass guitar at the age of fifteen. He quickly took to the instrument and within a few months had joined a Toronto punk band called Intensive Chaos. Primarily self-taught, Gordon continued to play in a string of basement bands and soon graduated to the independent scene where he started playing local gigs with Jonathan Cummins (Bionic, Doughboys), and Cam and Brad Maclean in Circus Lupus. Edwin (born September 9, 1968 as Edwin Ghazal) is a Canadian alternative rock singer from Toronto. He is the lead vocalist for the successful Canadian rock band I Mother Earth, as well as a solo artist. He is also the lead singer for the Canadian supergroup Crash Karma. In 2016, he reunited with I Mother Earth for a series of shows and a tour commemorating the twentieth anniversary of their most commercially successful release, ''Scenery and Fish''.
