''Saxpartyfavoriter'' is a compilation album by Ingmar Nordströms, released 28 February 2007. The album consists of three newly-recorded songs, among them an instrumental version of "Gabriellas sång". Topping the Swedish albums chart, it became the band's first number-one album in Sweden, nearly 16 years following the mid-December 1991 band breakup. "Gabriellas sång" is a ballad song with music by Stefan Nilsson and lyrics by Py Bäckman. Recorded by Helen Sjöholm and Stefan Nilsson, the song charted at Svensktoppen for 68 weeks from 24 October 2004 to 5 February 2006, peaking at second position before leaving the chart. The song also became famous with the 2004 film ''As It Is in Heaven''. An instrumental recording by Swedish dansband Ingmar Nordströms appeared on the band's 2007 reunion compilation album '' Saxpartyfavoriter''. Ingmar Nordströms
Ingmar Nordströms was a dansband from Växjö, Sweden that was established in 1955 by Ingmar Nordström. Their first appearance occurred in the Eringsboda folkpark. Their last appearance occurred in Växjö on 19 December 1991. In 1987, the band won a Grammis award in the "Dansband of the Year" category. "Lili Marleen" (also spelled "Lili Marlen'", "Lilli Marlene", "Lily Marlene", "Lili Marlène" among others; ) is a German love song that became popular during World War II throughout Europe and the Mediterranean among both Axis and Allied troops. Written in 1915 as a poem, the song was published in 1937 and was first recorded by Lale Andersen in 1939 as "Das Mädchen unter der Laterne" ("The Girl under the Lantern"). "What a Wonderful World" is a song written by Bob Thiele (as "George Douglas") and George David Weiss. It was first recorded by Louis Armstrong and released in 1967 as a single. It topped the pop chart in the United Kingdom, but performed poorly in the United States because Larry Newton, the president of ABC Records, disliked the song and refused to promote it. After it was heard in the film ''Good Morning, Vietnam'', it was reissued as a single in 1988, and rose to number 32 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Armstrong's recording was inducted to the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999. Composition and production Thiele produced the track under his own name, but as a co-composer was initially credited under the pseudonym George Douglas. His real name has appeared on it from its 1988 issue onward. "You Raise Me Up" is a song originally composed by the Norwegian-Irish duo Secret Garden. The music was written by Secret Garden's Rolf Løvland, and the lyrics by Brendan Graham. After the song was performed early in 2002 by the Secret Garden and their invited lead singer, Brian Kennedy, the song only became a minor UK hit. The song has been recorded by more than a hundred other artists including American songwriter Josh Groban in 2003 and Irish boy band Westlife in 2005 whose versions were hits in their countries. "Dag efter dag" (; "Day after day") is a song in Swedish, with melody by Lasse Holm and text by Monica Forsberg. The pop and country group Chips (Kikki Danielsson and Elisabeth Andreassen) won the Swedish Melodifestivalen 1982 with it. Chips, as representatives, finished eighth in the Eurovision Song Contest 1982. On April 18, 1982, the song reached the first place at Svensktoppen, where it stayed for nine rounds. On June 13, 1982, the song was the last to be number one at Svensktoppen, before the program was removed the first time. Chips also recorded the song with lyrics in English, "Day after Day". "Just a Gigolo" is a popular song, adapted by Irving Caesar into English in 1929 from the Austrian tango "Schöner Gigolo, armer Gigolo", composed in 1928 in Vienna by Leonello Casucci to lyrics written in 1924 by Julius Brammer. History The song was first published by Wiener Boheme Verlag in 1929 and performed by several orchestras in Germany that year, including Dajos Béla's orchestra with the singer Kurt Mühlhardt.
