Saukuchi
Saukuchi is a locality in southern part of Guwahati surrounded by Lokhra and Ghoramara localities. This locality serves as secondary route which connects Beltola with Lokhra area, other being National Highway 37. It is predominantly a residential area and has less commercial importance. Guwahati
Guwahati (, ; formerly rendered Gauhati, ) is the biggest city of the Indian state of Assam and also the largest metropolis in northeastern India. Lokhra, also known as Lakhra, is a locality in southern part of Guwahati in Assam. It is surrounded by Jalukbari, Lalmati and Basistha localities. It is near National Highway 37 and is 9 km and 18 km from Guwahati Railway Station and Airport, respectively. Ghoramara
Ghoramara Island is an island 92 km south of Kolkata, India in the Sundarban Delta complex of the Bay of Bengal. The island is small, roughly five square kilometers in area, and is quickly disappearing due to erosion and sea level rise. Shrinking of island Global warming has caused the rivers that pour down from the Himalayas and empty into the Bay of Bengal to swell and shift in recent decades, placing these islands, known as the Sundarbans, in danger. Four islands are completely underwater, and another 10 in the area are at risk. A 2007 study by Jadavpur University concluded that roughly of the Sundarbans had disappeared during the preceding 30 years, and that Ghoramara had shrunk to less than , about half its size in 1969: this loss of land had caused the displacement of more than 600 families. Beltola
Beltola is a prime residential area in the southern part of Guwahati, Assam. Mythical sources claimed that the word Beltola comes from the word Bilvapatra, which means leaves of Bael tree, used in religious ceremonies. It was said that in olden day's large quantities of Bael tree leaves were sent to Kamakhya Temple to be used in rituals. It was from that time the place is called as Beltola. It is an adjoining area of the Dispur Capital Complex, the capital of Assam. The area has seen rapid growth since the 1980s and its southern periphery is today extended up to the National Highway-27 (NH-27) in the extreme south of the city. Bhetapara is a fast-growing mixed residential and commercial area of Guwahati city in Kamrup Metropolitan district in Assam state in India. It connects the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium (main stadium of national games of country which held in the city in 2006) to the rest of the city. Basistha is a locality situated in south of Guwahati, named after sage Vashistha. Basistha Temple is located in extreme south of locality with hermitage of sage Vashistha popularly known as Bashistha Ashram while Basistha river flows through temple. All major rituals of Hindus are performed here. Basistha ashram's scenic surroundings makes it major picnic spot within the city alongside its religious importance.
