Walter Edwards (director)
Walter Edwards (January 8, 1870 – April 12, 1920), was an American director, screenwriter and actor. He directed 46 films during his career. Edwards initially work at the Elitch Theatre was as a director in 1896, but he later returned for multiple seasons as an actor in the summer stock cast. "In 1896, Mrs. Elitch signed J. H. Huntley to direct a resident stock company... After six weeks of melodrama, however, and a few unsatisfactory notices, the organization of the company was changed. Huntley, who was not very popular with audiences or with newspaper reviewers, was replaced by Walter Edwards." On July 12, 1896, Edwards started as director and his first play was J. K. Tillotson's ''A Gilded Crime''. The newspaper review stated: "Walter Edwards' presence has strengthened the company materially..." Jane Keckley (September 10, 1876 – August 14, 1963) was an American actress of the silent and sound film eras. Biography Keckley was born in Charleston, South Carolina, and went to school there and in Georgia. Before she acted in films, Keckley performed in stock theater and in vaudeville. Keckley began her film career in one- and two-reel Westerns in 1911. Her first feature film was 1915's ''The Circular Staircase'' (under the name Jane Watson). In her twenty-five year career, she would appear in over 90 films, as well as dozens of shorts. She would appear as a supporting actress in such films as: William Desmond Taylor's '' Huck and Tom'' (1918); the 1936 version of ''Show Boat'', starring Irene Dunne and Allan Jones; and ''Magnificent Obsession'' (1935), starring Irene Dunne and Robert Taylor. Edna Mae Cooper (July 19, 1900 – June 27, 1986) was an American actress of the silent era. She appeared in 79 films between 1911 and 1927. Early life On July 19, 1900, Cooper was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Career Cooper is known for her performances in ''Men, Women, and Money'' (1919), ''Grounds for Divorce'' (1925), and ''The Ten Commandments'' (1956). Bobbi Trout asked starlet Edna Mae Cooper if she wanted to go with her to attempt another endurance run. They first attempted the flight on January 1, 1931 but due to technical problems they had to abort the flight. At their next attempt, they were successful in flying straight for 122 hours and 50 minutes, only to end the run on January 9, 1931 due to the spitting off fuel. This was another record broken by Trout, and was later recognized by King Carol II of Romania, who representative gave her the Royal Decree and the aviation cross for pilots who made record flights, a distinction only given to two other pilots ...
