The twenty-eighth season of ''Saturday Night Live'', an American sketch comedy series, originally aired in the United States on NBC between October 5, 2002 and May 17, 2003. Cast Fred Armisen and Will Forte were brought on as featured players in the wake of Will Ferrell's and Ana Gasteyer's departures in the previous season. This season was also the final for Chris Kattan and Tracy Morgan. Dean Edwards did not return the following year. Saturday Night Live Season 27
The twenty-seventh season of ''Saturday Night Live'', an American sketch comedy series, originally aired in the United States on NBC between September 29, 2001 and May 18, 2002. Eighteen days before the season started, the September 11 terrorist attacks took place in New York. The season premiere (hosted by Reese Witherspoon) went on as scheduled, with a special cold open featuring Rudy Giuliani, the Mayor of New York City at the time, along with firefighters from the FDNY and police officers from the NYPD, declaring that despite the terrorist attack, New York City will run as normal and ''Saturday Night Live'' will go on as planned (with Lorne Michaels asking Giuliani "Can we be funny?" and Giuliani replying "Why start now?"). Three weeks into the season the show faced another scare when anthrax was found in the GE Building (from where the show is broadcast). Amy Poehler
Amy Poehler (; born September 16, 1971) is an American comedian, actress, writer, producer, and director. After studying improv at Chicago's Second City and ImprovOlympic in the early 1990s, Poehler co-founded the improvisational-comedy troupe Upright Citizens Brigade. The group moved to New York City in 1996, where their act became a half-hour sketch-comedy series on Comedy Central in 1998. Along with other members of the comedy group, Poehler is a founder of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. In 2001, Poehler joined the cast of the NBC sketch-comedy show ''Saturday Night Live''. Soozie Tyrell (born May 4, 1957), formerly known as Soozie Kirschner, is an American violinist, guitarist, and vocalist, most known for her work with Bruce Springsteen in the E Street Band and formerly The Sessions Band. The E Street Band is an American rock band, and has been musician Bruce Springsteen's primary backing band since 1972. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
