Saturday Night Live (Season 11)
The eleventh season of ''Saturday Night Live'', an American sketch comedy series, originally aired in the United States on NBC between November 9, 1985, and May 24, 1986. Background Dick Ebersol left the show after the 1984–85 season, when the network refused his request to shut the program down entirely for six months and shift much of the material onto tape, not live broadcast. Once again, NBC briefly considered cancelling the show, but programming head Brandon Tartikoff (who was something of an ''SNL'' fan) decided to continue the show and re-hire producer Lorne Michaels. This season featured a new logo, which was used only for this season: the title, ''Saturday Night Live'' in an all caps, graffiti-style pink lettering (not the same logo as used in season6). Reception The new cast failed to connect with audiences, due to the cast's inexperience in comedy. Saturday Night Live (season 10)
The tenth season of ''Saturday Night Live'', an American sketch comedy series, originally aired in the United States on NBC between October 6, 1984, and April 13, 1985. Only 17 episodes were produced due to a writers' strike and budget constraints. Changes to format This season also featured a new opening sequence produced by Charlex (who also created The Cars' "You Might Think" video earlier in 1984), depicting the ''SNL'' cast as giants in and around New York City landmarks. At the end of the season, Ebersol requested to completely revamp the show to include mostly prerecorded segments. Short, Guest, and Hall ultimately got tired of the show's demanding production schedule and showed little interest in returning for another season, leaving Crystal the only "A-cast" member available for season 11. The Breakfast Club
''The Breakfast Club'' is a 1985 American teen coming-of-age comedy-drama film written, produced, and directed by John Hughes. It stars Emilio Estevez, Paul Gleason, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald, and Ally Sheedy. Jean Doumanian ( Karabas; born July 28, 1936) is an American stage, television and film producer. She briefly produced ''Saturday Night Live'', between November 1980 and March 1981. Early life Doumanian was born Jean (or Jeannine) Karabas, the youngest of three children born to Greek Americans, Greek immigrant parents and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Chicago. Her father was a restaurateur. She attended the University of Illinois but dropped out as a junior to marry John Doumanian, a promoter for Capitol Records.
