Satellite (Polish Band)
Satellite is a Polish neo-prog band. It was founded in 2000 by ex-Collage drummer Wojtek Szadkowski as a quartet, with Sarhan Kubeisi on guitar, Robert Amirian as vocalist and bassist, and Krzysiek Palczewski on keyboards. Their debut album, ''A Street Between Sunrise and Sunset'', was released on 10 March 2003 by Metal Mind Productions. Its follow-up, ''Evening Games'', was released in February 2005, and reached no. 8 at the top 100 best selling records in Poland. At the beginning of June 2005, regular rehearsals helped develop Satellite as a real band and not just Wojtek's solo studio project. As a result, Satellite recorded the live DVD ''Evening Dreams'' (2006) on 22 September 2005. In March 2007 the band played at the Baja Prog Baja Prog is an annual progressive rock festival in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico Mexico (Spanish: México), officially the United Mexican States, is a country in the southern portion of North America. Progressive Rock
Progressive rock (shortened as prog rock or simply prog; sometimes conflated with art rock) is a broad genre of rock music that developed in the United Kingdom and United States through the mid- to late 1960s, peaking in the early 1970s. Initially termed "progressive pop", the style was an outgrowth of psychedelic bands who abandoned standard pop traditions in favour of instrumentation and compositional techniques more frequently associated with jazz, folk, or classical music. Additional elements contributed to its " progressive" label: lyrics were more poetic, technology was harnessed for new sounds, music approached the condition of "art", and the studio, rather than the stage, became the focus of musical activity, which often involved creating music for listening rather than dancing. Progressive rock is based on fusions of styles, approaches and genres, involving a continuous move between formalism and eclecticism. Due to its historical reception, the scope of progressiv ...

They purchased rights for several albums from Empire Records that include titles from such bands as Totem, Sammath Naur, Dissenter, Deivos, Archeon, Spinal Cord, Demise, Naumachia, and Pyorrhoea. and re-released them in 2007 and 2008 although the musicians were not been informed about the deal and were unable to contact Metal Mind. Neo-progressive Rock Groups
Neo-progressive rock (also known as neo-prog) is a subgenre of progressive rock which developed in the UK in the early 1980s. The genre's most popular band, Marillion, achieved mainstream success in the decade. Several bands from the genre have continued to record and tour. Characteristics Neo-progressive rock (or simply "neo-prog") is characterized by deeply emotional content, often delivered via dramatic lyrics and a generous use of imagery and theatricality on-stage. The music is mostly the product of careful composition, relying less heavily on improvised jamming. The subgenre relies very much on clean, melodic and emotional electric guitar solos, combined with keyboards. The main musical influences on the neo-prog genre are bands from the first wave of progressive rock such as early Genesis, Camel, and to a lesser extent Van der Graaf Generator and Pink Floyd. Funk, hard rock and punk rock were also influences on the genre. History In the book ''The Progressive Roc ...
