Sarawak Music Awards
Sarawak Music Awards is a music award held in the Malaysian state of Sarawak. It is divided into three major events that are given the most attention by the fans, media, and record companies in Sarawak. Shortlisted as the Anugerah Musik Dayak (AMD) awards, Anugerah Juara Rentak Ruai (AJARR) awards and the Anugerah Carta Sapa Juara (ACSJ) awards. Presented by different organization dedicated to promoting the diversity of music in Sarawak and to acknowledging the talents and contributions of the local entertainer. The first music award is the Anugerah Juara Rentak Ruai (AJARR) presented annually by Cats FM radio station, a subsidiary of Kristal Harta Sdn Bhd since 2003 until 2012, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism Sarawak . The nominations were based on the first 12 songs which have been ranked at No 1 with the longest durations accumulated in twelve months and the winner will be judged by a group of professional jury. Cats FM
Cats FM is a private FM radio station airing from Jalan Bako, Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. The radio covers areas of Sarawak and Brunei. The radio airs in Malay and Iban. The station used to air programmes in English and Mandarin Chinese. Cats FM is Sarawak's first private radio station. Special programs Pantun Sarawak (Bermukun) It is announced in February 2011 that Cats FM will re-air the traditional ''Pantun Sarawak'' after an absence of two years. The ''Pantun Sarawak'' also known as ''bermukun'' or ''berpantun'' is a Sarawakian art, not only confined to the Malays but also to other ethnics as well. The program airs every Friday from 9.30pm-11pm, with presenters Cassie and Wan KAK. CATS Exposed CATS Exposed is a segment that features Sarawakian acts that aired since 2008. ACSJ 2017
This is a list of primary schools in Singapore. Children typically start their primary education in the year they turn seven. Primary education lasts six years, and is compulsory for all Singapore citizens. Primary schools in Singapore are classified as Government or Government-aided schools. Primary schools are typically mixed-sex, though there are a number of single-sex schools. Some primary schools are affiliated with a secondary school, and such schools may have a lower requirement for students from the primary section to enter the affiliated secondary school. Dayak People
The Dayak (; older spelling: Dajak) or Dyak or Dayuh are one of the native groups of Borneo. It is a loose term for over 200 riverine and hill-dwelling ethnic groups, located principally in the central and southern interior of Borneo, each with its own dialect, customs, laws, territory, and culture, although common distinguishing traits are readily identifiable. Dayak languages are categorised as part of the Austronesian languages. The Dayak were animist (Kaharingan and Folk Hindus) in belief; however, since the 19th century there has been mass conversion to Christianity as well as Islam due to the spreading of Abrahamic religions. Etymology It is commonly assumed that the name originates from the Bruneian and Melanau word for “interior people”, without any reference to an exact ethnic group. Iban People
The Ibans or Sea Dayaks are a branch of the Dayak peoples on the island of Borneo in South East Asia. Dayak is a title given by the westerners to the local people of Borneo island. It is believed that the term "Iban" was originally an exonym used by the Kayans, who – when they initially came into contact with them – referred to the Sea Dayaks in the upper Rajang river region as the "Hivan". Ibans were renowned for practicing headhunting and territorial migration, and had a fearsome reputation as a strong and successfully warring tribe. Since the arrival for Europeans and the subsequent colonisation of the area, headhunting gradually faded out of practice, although many other tribal customs and practices as well as the Iban language continue to thrive. The Iban population is concentrated in the state of Sarawak in Malaysia, Brunei, and the Indonesian province of West Kalimantan. Serian Division
Serian is a town, and the capital of the ''Serian'' (2,039.9 square kilometres) separated on 11 April 2015 from Samarahan Division, Sarawak, Malaysia. It is located about from Kuching. Sub-district headquarters towns are Balai Ringin and Tebedu. The town is known for its durians, which are popularly believed to be the best in Sarawak. This has prompted the Serian District Council to erect a giant monument to this "king of fruits" right in the middle of the market square. However, other monuments such as the tiger and the buffalo statues seem out of place as there are no tigers or buffalos in this district. The town is well connected to its rich hinterland both by road and by water and thus one can find all sorts of jungle produce available in the jungle produce market but lately, most of these produce were brought in from Kalimantan, Indonesia as the price are cheaper. Bidayuh
Bidayuh is the collective name for several indigenous groups found in southern Sarawak, Malaysia and northern West Kalimantan, Indonesia, on the island of Borneo, which are broadly similar in language and culture (see also #Language issues, issues below). The name ''Bidayuh'' means 'inhabitants of land'. Originally from the western part of Borneo, the collective name Land Dayak was first used during the period of Rajah James Brooke, the White Rajah of Sarawak. At times, they were also lesser referred to as Klemantan people. Masterpiece (band)
Masterpiece is an Iban rock band, which formed in 2003 as Masterjam in Sibu, Sarawak best known for its hit singles, " Sinu", " Kumang Seari" & " Ngarap Ka Nuan Nikal Pulai". The band comprises vocalist Depha Masterpiece, lead guitarist Willy Edwin, bassist Watt Marcus, drummer Harold Vincent, keyboardist Valentine Jimmy and Roslee Qadir. The group was renamed Masterpiece in 2005 after Depha was hired as the band's new vocalist. Drummer Roni,guitarist Kennedy Edwin ,keyboardist Dellender Wilson and Timothy are former members of the band. Since its inception, Masterpiece has released five studio albums and three songs for Gawai various artist album compilations. The band achieved commercial success in Sarawak with the release of their first album, '' Merindang Ke Bintang'', in 2009.
