Sarah Murray (ice Hockey)
Sarah Murray (born April 28, 1988) is a Canadian-American ice hockey coach and the head coach of the women's ice hockey team of Saint Mary's University of Minnesota in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) of the NCAA Division III. She served as head coach of the South Korean women's national ice hockey team during 2014 to 2018 and was the head coach of the Korean unified team at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Playing career Murray was born April 28, 1988, in Faribault, Minnesota, to Ruth and Andy Murray. She played hockey at Shattuck-Saint Mary's, a private parochial and college-preparatory school known for its ice hockey program. As a rookie with the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs women's ice hockey program in the 2006–07 season, she broke her ankle in the first round of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Conference Playoffs. The Los Angeles Kings are a professional ice hockey team based in Los Angeles. The Western Michigan Broncos men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I (NCAA), Division I college ice hockey program that represents Western Michigan University. Lyndsey Fry (born October 30, 1992) is a retired American ice hockey player. She was a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. Fry was born in Mesa, Arizona, but grew up in Chandler, Arizona. She played college hockey for Harvard University. Peter Smith (ice Hockey)
Peter Smith (born 27 March 1953) is a Canadian ice hockey coach and coaching mentor of the McGill Redbirds and Martlets programs at McGill University in Montreal. He was the head coach of the McGill Martlets ice hockey program for twenty seasons, during 1999 to 2020, and is the winningest coach in McGill ice hockey history. Smith amassed a 534-229-33 (.671) career record behind the McGill bench. Over his four national championship seasons, the team posted a combined 131-5-0 record against Canadian university opponents. The 2007-08 title marked the first McGill women's team in any sport to capture a CIS / U SPORTS championship. The annual NCAA women's ice hockey tournament—officially known as the National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Championship—is a college ice hockey tournament held in the United States by the National Collegiate Athletic Association to determine the top women's team in the NCAA. The 2020 championship was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) is a college athletic conference which operates in the Midwestern United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a women's ice hockey-only conference. From 1951 to 1999, it operated as a men-only league, adding women's competition in the 1999–2000 season. It operated men's and women's leagues through the 2020–21 season; during this period, the men's WCHA expanded to include teams far removed from its traditional Midwestern base, with members in Alabama, Alaska, and Colorado at different times.
