Sarah Blake (novelist)
Sarah Blake is an American writer based in Washington D.C. Her debut novel ''Grange House'', set in Victorian era Maine, was published in 2001. Her second, ''The Postmistress'', a story set in Second World War Massachusetts and London, was published in 2010, and a third, ''The Guest Book'', the story of two intertwined families in twentieth-century Germany and the U.S., appeared in 2019. Life Blake taught school and college-level English poorly in Colorado and New York for several years and has taught fiction workshops at institutions including the University of Maryland and George Washington University. ''The Postmistress'' received a favourable review from ''The New York Times'', which compared it to Kathryn Stockett's ''The Help ''The Help'' is a historical fiction novel by American author Kathryn Stockett and published by Penguin Books in 2009. Sarah Blake (poet)
Sarah Blake is an American writer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her debut novel, ''Naamah'', is a retelling of the Great Flood and the family's time on the ark. Her poetry books include ''Mr. West'' and ''Let's Not Live on Earth'', as well as the chapbook ''Named After Death''. She received a Literature Fellowship from the NEA in 2013. Life Blake grew up in New Jersey. She attended The College of New Jersey as an undergraduate majoring in math and minoring in creative writing. She later received her MA in creative writing at the University of Texas at Austin, and her MFA in poetry from Pennsylvania State University. She currently lives outside London.
