Saqr Bin Zayed Al Nahyan
Saqr bin Zayed Al Nahyan was the Ruler of Abu Dhabi from 1926 to 1928. He was the half brother of Sultan bin Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan (Ruler of Abu Dhabi from 1922 to 1926), whom he shot and killed to become Ruler himself. He was the uncle of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Shakhbut bin Sultan Al Nahyan Shakhbut bin Sultan Al Nahyan ( ar, شخبوط بن سلطان آل نهيان; 1 June 1905 – 11 February 1989) was the ruler of Abu Dhabi from 1928 to 1966. Al Nahyan
The House of Nahyan ( ar, آل نهيان, Āl Nohayān) are one of the six ruling families of the United Arab Emirates, and are based in the capital Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Al Nahyan is a branch of the House of Al Falahi (Āl Bū Falāḥ), a branch of the Bani Yas tribe, and are related to the House of Al Falasi from which the ruling family of Dubai, Al Maktoum, descends. The Bani Yas came to Abu Dhabi in the 18th century from Liwa Oasis. They have ruled Abu Dhabi since 1793, and previously ruled Liwa. Five of the rulers were overthrown and eight were killed in coups between 1793 and 1966; many were brothers. Khalifa Bin Zayed Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan
}) was the eldest son of Abu Dhabi ruler Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan. He was brother of four Abu Dhabi rulers, Tahnoun, Hamdan, Saqr and Sultan. Khalifa refused to ascend the throne when his father died in 1909, because his mother begged him to refuse, as she was sure he would be killed. He reportedly built Al-Muwaiji Fort in what is now the city of Al Ain during the early 20th century, during the reign of his father. Khalifa's grandsons, Hamdan, Mubarak, Tahnoun and Saif, were the major supporters of Zayed bin Sultan when he became the ruler of Abu Dhabi in 1966. They assumed various major public roles. Manasir (tribe)
The Manasir ( ar, المناصير, singular Mansuri) is a tribe of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Nomadic, warlike and fiercely independent, they roamed between Buraimi and Qatar, the Persian Gulf coast to Liwa and also settled in the Northern emirates. They subsisted through date farming, pearling and moving goods with their camel trains, as well as camel breeding. Independent Bedouin One of the most important tribes in the emirate of Abu Dhabi (together with the Bani Yas, with whom they cooperated and coexisted closely), the tribe was traditionally predominant in the desert areas between Buraimi and Qatar and the Persian Gulf coast to Liwa, but Manasir families had settled Abu Dhabi, Buraimi, Al Khan and Jumeirah by the turn of the 20th century. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan ( ar, زَايِد بِن سُلْطَان آل نَهْيَان, Zāyed bin Sulṭān Āl Nahyān; 6 May 1918 – 2 November 2004) was an Emirati politician, statesman, and philanthropist who served as the first president of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 1971 until his death in 2004.
