Sanzhi District () is a rural district in northern New Taipei, Taiwan. It is notable as the hometown of the former president Lee Teng-hui. Li Tien-lu Hand Puppet Historical Museum
The Li Tien-lu Hand Puppet Historical Museum () is a museum in Sanzhi District, New Taipei, Taiwan. History The museum opened on 31 December 1996, two years before the death of its namesake, the puppeteer Li Tien-lu. The museum was reopened on 1 January 2005 after renovation works. Exhibitions The museum houses more than 200 antique puppet heads of more than 100 years old as well as cultural relics. The ''Almost Life Like Puppet Theater'' also perform regularly in the museum. Tu Tsung-ming
Tu Tsung-ming (, ) was a Taiwanese pharmacologist and educator and Taiwan's first Doctor of Medical Sciences (equivalent to Ph.D.). Early life and education Tu Tsung-ming was born in Tamsui in 1893. He entered the Medical school under Government-General of Taiwan in 1909. Since his physical test score on the entrance exam did not meet the standard, he would not be able to enter this school. However, he topped the exam, so the president of the school, Junzo Nagano(長野純蔵), decided to admit him as a special case. He was always at the top of his class, and became healthy through swimming, mountaineering and exercises. The movement that requested to overthrow China's Qing dynasty was rising in 1910, and he joined the under society Tongmenghui with his friends. Tseng Wen-hui
Tseng Wen-hui (; (born 31 March 1926) is a Taiwanese public figure, First Lady of the Republic of China (Taiwan) from 1988 to 2000, and widow of former Taiwanese President Lee Teng-hui. Biography Tseng was born on 31 March 1926 in Sanshi Village, Taihoku Prefecture, now known as present-day New Taipei City, Taiwan. Tseng married Lee on 9 February 1949, when he was a teaching assistant in the Faculty of Agriculture and Economics at National Taiwan University. The couple had three children. Their eldest son, Lee Hsien-wen, (c. 1950 – 21 March 1982) died of sinus cancer. Daughters Anna and Annie, were born c. 1952 and c. 1954, respectively. The Legislative Yuan () is the unicameral legislature of the Republic of China (Taiwan) located in Taipei. The Legislative Yuan is composed of 113 members, who are directly elected for four-year terms by people of the Taiwan Area through a parallel voting system. Originally located in Nanjing, the Legislative Yuan, along with the National Assembly (electoral college) and the Control Yuan (upper house), formed the tricameral parliament under the original 1947 Constitution. The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is a centre to centre-left Taiwanese nationalist political party in Taiwan. The Taiwan Solidarity Party (TSP) is a political party in Taiwan which advocates Taiwan independence, and is affiliated with the Taiwanese localization movement. Chiang Wen-yeh
Chiang Wen-yeh or Jiang Wenye (; June 11, 1910 – October 24, 1983) was a Taiwanese composer, active mainly in Japan and later in China. He was born in Dadaocheng, Taipei, and died in Beijing. While often known in the West by renditions of his Chinese name, the three Chinese characters that form his name are pronounced ''Kō Bunya'' () in Japanese, and thus he is also known as Koh Bunya in the West. In his compositions, which range from for piano to choral and orchestral works, he merged elements of traditional Chinese, Taiwanese, and Japanese music with modernist influences.
